I never had an Xbox and wanted very badly to play Ninja Gaiden seeing as to how I grew up with the NES series. Finally got a 360 so I traded in some games for Ninja Gaiden.

Its a tremendous game. Still looks and sounds and plays great. But GOOD GOD is it hard! I just beat Gears of War on hardcore and it seems like Tetris compared to Ninja Gaiden.

First off, the bosses. The first boss is hard, and the second one harder. Than they're pretty easy until you get to Alma. She consistently pummels my ass and it is frustrating.

Secondly, the game punishes you. You have to go through a lot of difficult obstacles and/or enemies, you use up your health and health potions AND THEN YOU FIGHT A BOSS a lot of times. No save point in between! Then WHEN you die, you have to do that all over again. Takes you longer to get to the boss than the boss battle lasts before you die!

This is one of the few games where you may have to restart just because you didn't predict the future and stock up on health potions ALL THE TIME. I've already had to do it once.

It's a fun game, but it's frustrating and VERY hard. I think the makers could have made save points a little more frequent and convienently placed.

Did you get the orginal Ninja Gaiden or Ninja Gaiden Black, because I would recommend Ninja Gaiden Black sense it has a lot more content then Ninja Gaiden. It is basicly the same game but with more things.

Yeah it's a pretty hard game. But it gets less frustrating when you learn how to play it better. Try different weapons for different enemies and look at your moves list to get them down. It's a blast when you beat it. So just keep going and don't give up. :D

Yeah, I wanted Black but couldn't find it. I traded in some PS2 games and got A LOT more back than I thought, so Ninja Gaiden was basically free. Plus I heard Black doesn't have the old NES trilogy on it.

head's up, the last boss is ten times harder than her

*cries *

Lol this is Off-Topic but your signature is hilarious. Now for the topic, the game is very hard and frustrating aswell. I bought Ninja Gaiden when it was first released on Xbox and never got passed the first few bosses. However, I have an uncle that is a master at this game. He has beat the game like 50 times, unlocked everything and just knows everything about each boss and such.

Because I don't want to pay $500-600 for a system with very few games I might like. I like to judge the LIBRARY of games, not justone to determine what system for me to get.

Ninja Gaiden rocks! It is definitly one heck of a challenge. My only complaints are the occasional wonky camera and save point while being ambushed by baddies.

When you start playing on hard andgo back toa savegame on normal, you will find out that it becamepretty easy.

The cool thing on Ninja Gaiden is that its hard(extremely hard), but if you train, you can master it. You can really get better in it; learning this game is a little bit like learning a martial art :D

Yeah, Ninja Gaiden was really hard for me for a while, but ultimately I found it extremely satisfying, because I found that as I kept playing, I just naturally got better, and eventually enemies who had initially seemed really tough and who I thought I would never be able to beat weren't so hard to deal with. I hope you have this same experience with it. It's definitely one of my all-time faves.

There are always places in the game where enemies respawn & you can just kill them again & again to harvest yellow essence so that you never run out of $ for healing items. You just have to find spots that are close to save spots, & harvest away. Also, use the power up technique to make lots of money. Kill one or two dudes, then just hold the power up button to kill the rest & make mega yellow essence.

Yes, the game is punishing, but never cheap or unfair. And once you beat it, you'll really feel an incredible sense of accomplishment, something that most games never achieve, (the ending sequences are the most over the top ridiculous boss fights I've ever seen, even to this day). But don't keep starting over, there's no need. Just harvest yellow essence from respawning enemies.

The last boss is the easiest in the whole game.
