Late to get an Xbox360 ?

No it is definitely not too late. There are 3 options, but the arcade pack is no good so realistically you have two options:

Xbox 360 Pro: Comes packed with white Xbox 360, 20GB hard drive (so you can save games, demoes, movies, play xbox 1 games, etc), wireless controller, hdmi port (no cable), xbox live headset and 1 free month of xbox live for $349

Xbox 360 Elite: Comes packed with black Xbox 360, 120GB hard drive, black wireless controller, hdmi port and hdmi cable, black xbox live headset and 1 free month of xbox live for $449

Whichever one suits you best is what you should go for. There are some games you'll just need to buy (call of duty 4, halo 3 and Gears of War) but besides that, I recommend you make a thread telling us the types of games you like and which ones would be good for you.

REALLY :? I already have a PS3 . but I think its is boring sometimes . I don't use it , maybe twice a month . yes there is no good games out there on PS3 . Xbox360 has more amazing and cool games . I missed so many great games , right ?newown

Good X360 games: Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Gears of War, Call of Duty 2, 3 & 4, Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2, Guitar Hero 2 & 3, Saints Row, Dead Rising, Oblivion, Army of Two, Forza Motorsport 2, Assassins Creed, Rock Band, Condemned 1 & 2, Crackdown, The Orange Box, Ghost Recon Adanced Warfighter 1 & 2, etc.

Good games that are coming out: The better version of GTA IV, Fable 2, Banjo Kazooie 3, Gears of War 2, Too Human, etc.

1) Many of them can be played, well at least most of the good ones but there are some gems missing unfortunally, please use this list

2) Yeah at least with the Elite, HMDI cables can be found pretty cheap anyways as it doesn't really matter which one you get as the signal is digital unless you wan't a cable that's longer than 30 feet then it strarts to become worth to spend the extra money.

3) Very, if you could pull it off on your PS3 you should have no problem with that.

And finally, no it's not too late there is already tons of great games out and more are on the way.

Nah, not at all. Don't bother with the PS3, you'll be retired by the time the PS3 builds a decent game library. As someone already mentioned, you'll be spoiled for choice with the 360.

From someone who just got a 360 last week: If you don't have HDTV, the elite shouldn't be an option. 20 gigs of hard drive is plenty. Plus, (if you think of it this way) you get $100 more dollars for whatever you want. monkey304

i have a 360 and a ps3 trust me go with ps3 it will have a longer life and you will get alot more playtime. i love my 360 but its too late to get one nowriobird

Wow, you speak of an "absolute." Too late? Of course not. Games will be coming out for the Xbox 360 until 2011. As far as longer life for the PS3? I doubt it. They'll probably be about equal in life span. Playtime? So far, Xbox 360 has the most games, and they will continue to have more. Let's face it, Xbox 360's hardware is a lot easier to use, and a lot more accessible, plus, we have Xbox Live. PS3 is still a wonderful machine and it will have great exclusives. I think both systems will do well in the long run and produce a ton of games. PS360 owners will be content.

And hopefully get GTA, Ninja Gaiden and Farcry 2 in the future :)

Thats not true, it would have been announced by now. You wont see a new xbox until 2010 at the earlyiest but probably not till 2011. So get a 36o now and enjoy some great games and the best online for consoles.

Your PS buddies, right? And that "too late" thing is weird, I mean I'm going to play Ikaruga anytime now (XBLA) and the game is almost 15 years old.

Do you have an idea what it takes to release a new console? Devs must have the kits many many months before its release, hype machine must be rolling, etc. It's a bilion dolars investment, it's not like "ok, lets release a new one".

Too many games are the same genre though the first person shooter is overdone on the 360. There are more well rounded lineup on the PS3 even right now. However there are a lot of great games on the 360.painpas

I usually get a sony console for the rpgs (ps1 and ps2 had some great rpgs), but there are none at the moment. While the 360 has Lost Odyseey, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, etc.. :)

I hope the ps3 gets some exclusive rpgs soon (where are the next gen wild arms, shuikoden, etc...?)

Not too late. As for the new xboxs coming out well they are releasing an old school version 360 with a wood case and a rugged portable 360 with a TB hard drive but both are 360's and no you will not see a completely new console for a few years.CorporateHammer
