Left 4 Disappointment?

any one else feel disappointed when playing the left 4 dead demo? After i played through the 2 levels i immediately deleted it off my hard-drive. 

 Here were couple things that i extremely disliked...

 1. Pistols have unlimited ammo. This totally eliminates the whole survival part of the game. You could have 4 people each with dual pistols shooting down hordes of zombies. lame. 

 2. Getting hit by zombies virtually does nothing. I was in the middle of a crowd of zombies getting hit and i was watching my life bar barely taking any damage.I had to wait 10 secs in order for me just to fall on the ground until one of my teamates came up to me and healed my life back up to full. 

3 .Shooting weapons gives no satisfaction to the user. Same could be said about actually shooting the zombies. Shooting at them seems rather weak and boring. 

4.  Graphics are based on a engine that is almost 5 years old. So of course they look bad compared to todays games. You cant argue with that. 

5. The game is too linear for its own good. Blocked off paths? seriously?

 This game wont get anything above a 7.5 here.

i played the demo earlier today, i see what you mean but you can't deny that it's fun. it won't get 7.5, 8 minimum, 9 max,boxofwit

what difficulty where you playing it on because if it was on easy then your are missing out the wholle survival aspect of the game comes into play at expert or below one level (cant remember name of it) the pistols are quite tedious with the unlimted but there quite weak and take a whille to reload especially when your under pressure

The graphics engine is a classic and still looks good and you cannot denie that its got a good feel to it. Its fun i have played the demo about 10 times through its so good working as a team with friends on expert.

I thought the demo was awesome. That graphics are the source engine. So, if you played CSS then you should know. The game play and team factor is awesome. Pistols may have unlimited ammo. But, it does not do great damage specially to the hunters, and the boomers. It's a day one buy for me. I played it with friends and had an outstanding time. Also, if you didn't find it was very challanging make sure you increase the difficulty. It's more fun and challanging. The one thing that I did not like however was the friendly fire.

I am not sure if you can turn that off or not. I have not seen that you could. But, when there is a big horde of zombies heading your way and attacking a team mate its hard not to shoot your friend as well. Get's kind of anoying. I think that is my only down side to the game though.

ReaperV7 u are right about 1 and 5 but i really enjoyed the game though play it on expert its very fun. I seen worse games. Hey if they add new things like they said they was 4 the xbox version like new maps new zombies and etc then i think its worth buying 4 60$

its a freekin demo! what kind of story did u expect, thats what the actual game is for.

Like the others have said, play the demo on expert. Even if you have unlimited handgun ammo. it will be really hard to survive still. We found out (me three other friends I played the demo with on expert) that you cant exploit the dead survivor respawn by camping. (most of the time we were killing each other :lol: ). bad idea when 50 zombies are all of the sudden trying to break down the door to the room you are camping in. Really fun though.

To be honest, my friends and I had more fun playing the L4D demo than Gears of War 2 online.

1. There's no melee weapons, which means if your pistols COULD run out of ammo, you're done. I could see the pistols not having unlimited ammo if the player was given a knife, or if you could pick up melee weapons.

2. Try playing Expert or Advanced mode if you want to take damage.

3. I agree with this one.

4. Graphics don't make the game.

Overall, it's not a bad game. I will be buying it, myself. Remember though, this is a demo. The full game might have more content.

We should probaobly wait until we play the game in it's entirety before we say it's the best game this year but yes it is fun. 

I've been playing this game for the past two hours. I'm having so much fun. Those tanks are entertaining.

I was in two minds about this game before the demo. After playing the demo through a few times both offline and online i am still unsure about it!

It is good fun but as other people have said it just lacks depth and tension. I imagined it having a thick, dark atmosphere similar to bioshock but instead itis more of a spoof where you simply run in with huge amounts of ammunition and blast the hell out of numerous zombies. Sure its fun for a while but in time is it going to be as fun as some ogf the other games around. (I was dissapointed with the graphics aswell!)

I don't really mind the unlimited ammo thing, but I could do without it.

The graphics aren't horrible, but could use improvement. They're not really ruining anything for me. 

 However, it's the speed of the game that really turns me away from this. It's like you're playing a bad custom game of CS/Half-Life where the speed is turned way up and you can't even control your guy. It's hard to strategize when everybody is running around the map at 100mph and you don't even know what's going on. Maybe I need to spend more time with the game, but that's what really bugged me.

Iam sorry Reaper I have played with you online and you where playing it on normal why don't you try playing expert and then tell me its "TOO EASY" you don't like the game cause you suck at it when I played with you, you just ran ahead and didn't even try to stick with the team then you get taken out and you complain that this game sucks try playing the game the way it was intended.  This is a survival game not Halo 3 you can't just run out guns blazing.  Personally I love this game it's the most fun I have had on a video game in almost 10 yrs.  The AI director is genius, random spawning for the zombies is brilliant, and I love locking my self in a room and have the zombies just rush me and my friends, cause at points this game has been pretty intence for me.  This game is a definate but for me I can't wait to see the new maps, weapons, and DLC for this game.  All in all this game is a great game that should at least be tried out and played more that one time through to really appreciate this game for what it is, I give this game a 9.0

My problem was it just didn't grab me. It wasn't a bad game but it just felt like it was missing something. It was missing the...fun.

Maybe I'll get it once the price drops but for now it's a pass.

Yeh, just play on Expert and the game gets so much more intense.

OXM gave it a 9.5, but thats the only review I have actually seen. 

i played it both on pc and 360 love it.

1. pistols suck, sure they have unlimited ammo but thier weak compared to other guns. 

2. expert is hard and die instantly. u must have been playing it on easy ro somthing because normal is also a bit challenging but fun. 

3. it does to me, if u get a m16 shoot in the head, the head pops off and blood shoots out. 

4. its the source engine but upgraded. its like source with numbers. 

5. sure it is but kind of gives off the theme of the game.
