Its a shame tha they're going out with their worst game yet...Halo Reach.

realguitarhero5

+1, halo wise, reach or odst are the worse. Also their last 2 games.

I like ODST! Not worth the full $60 by far, I'm glad I waited, but the atmosphere is great and unlike anything in any other Halo. The music was also some of the best. The gameplay was average, but only as far as Halo is concerned. It was still good, solid fun.

Your right, I think that the co-op was the best yet in ODST.

I couldn't wait for Bungie to implement the firefight system in Reach but for some reason it came out as something that was simply put into the game and it wasn't really enjoyable.

I love Halo games and I think that Halo 2 & 3 are some of the best games I ever played, so believe me I tried to like Reach. The loadouts weren't terrible but I would say that they definitely damaged the Halo gameplay a little bit. Not to mention that the maps in Reach are a joke. They made Forgeworld and seriously abused it, I mean half the maps are on that mediocre map.

Which leads me to my last point. They improved the map editor but didn't provide great maps to construct games on. Forgeworld is beautiful, but we need more. And thats what seperates Reach from Halo 3. I can't invite my friends to play infection, fat-kid, cops and robbers or anything in Reach. I just view Halo 3 as a game that was justmuch more appealing.

Nothing against Bungie though, they just did what every developer tries to do nowadays; copy CoDs success.

from me and most of the reach community, i hope you go under Bungie. I honestly do. Microsoft1234
lol no son. Just because a few fools who bought the game pissed themselves because of bloom and armor lock doesn't mean that everyone else who plays Reach hates it and wishes that every developer at Bungie would lose their jobs.

I really don't understand how fans can be so fickle and have this undeserved sense of entitlement.

Obviously they loved Bungie's previous games, what with being on their forum and all and then when Bungie releases a game that they don't like, it's all spit and venom from them.

I don't have any sort of blind loyalty to Bungie, I mean if they were to release a game that was truly bad that some many other developers see fit to release, I'd be all over them like a rash, moaning.

But they release great, great games consistently and all they get is abuse? I don't know why they bother to be honest. In a way I'm delighted that they're developing for multiple platforms now. Xbox fans had their chance with an AAA developer making games for their console alone and they blew it by pissing and moaing like a bunch of spoilt brats.

Hopefully PC and PS3 gamers will be a little more gracious and mature about their next IP and give Bungie the respect they deserve.

there's your answer, people know bungie can do better. What myself and others realize-bungie doesn't know what they're doing. Which is why we've seen a decline in gameplay for the series.

I said that "THEY don't like". What makes you think that those fans represent all of Halo's audience?

And you keep saying they "don't know what they're doing" as if the legions of former fans who apparently now hate them could do a better job.

They are in fact one of the more competent developers. Believe it or not.

I thought Reach was an excellent conclusion to the series and took all the best pits from the previous games and fitted them neatly into one tidy package.

I'm sure I'm not the only one.

But I'm clearly not gonna change your mind, so whatever.

Just out of interest, what would you class as a "good game"? Any genre, but a FPS especially?

Thats pretty terrible that you want many people to lose their jobs in this economy just because they disappointed you with their games.

recently? there haven't been any great fpses. But shooters this gen I'd go with halo 3, even though it sucked compared to 2 and 1, cod 4, cod 2, gears of war 1, team fortress 2, and shadowrun. Bare in Mind i haven't played battlefield or resistance (killzone is trash as well). But that's 5 shooters out of what? 100's this gen. Those 5 that are playable/decent.

edit: if you want to throw in l4d, you can do that too, although i really don't consider it as much an fps as most would. Multiplayer is way different from regular fpses.

My god you're hard to please...:P

I suggest you pay absolutely no attention to Bungie's next game whatever it may be.
