Should I be light or dark side in KOTOR and KOTOR2. I have never played through either. How will the side I choose impact the story, and will I lose anything by going light or dark?
I loved KOTOR. I played through twice, once as good and once as bad. It's pretty cool being all Jedi-like, defending the weak and what-not, but it's also really cool being evil. I recommend playing once as good first, then playing again as bad, but if I had to pick one, I'd be evil.
It is funner to be light side in the first one, and dark side in the second. Force Lightning in the second one plows through whole groups of enemies. Very satisfying. Heh. But really, they're both fun either way.
kotor is a great game but i hope your not playing it on your 360 cause its almost unplayable because of the really bad frame rate problems.newmanmaster

Light. The Dark side has some cool abilities but i had to FORCE myself to do the bad things because some are just so flippin wrong (ripping off the widow on tatooine...)
i tended to play in the middle. in my opinion, it was no fun to be either of the extremes. and i enjoyes watching my avatar go from generally lighter to darker phases as the game went on
Play the game as if the character is YOU. Make the decisions you would make if you were actually there. Then, after playing through that way, play all Dark or all Light.

just cus you dont like it does not mean it has to be thrown out, hes prolly playing it on his 360, i dont go to PS forums and tell them how much crap GTA is. star wars is great. but it may be alittle over your head though.

Yeah, I am playing dark side so far, just being cocky, not really doing anything evil, and I am enjoying it. And I cant play as if it was me, cuz I wanna be super powerful and neutral which isnt possible. I am thinking Dark side for KOTOR 1 since in the sith prevail and kill all but one jedi prior to KOTOR 2, and then when I play KOTOR 2 I will saty lights side, because 1000 years later there are still Jedi, therefore the last jedi cant go to the dark side. So I figure I will get the best of both worlds in the realm of the most probable story (I am a Star Wars Dork =D, but I am old so its okay).
lol well i usually play these kinds of games 3 times the first i do whatever i want at the moment of choice then a file good and a file bad lol bads got funnier scenes in it since u can instigate arguments between the characters lol

Yeah I noticed that too. The one on Dantooine between the dads is the best.

Yeah I just saw that one yesterday, it was pretty funny. Definitly hinting at the dark side ;D!
dark side also ends you up with more loot. you can rob a bunch of people, reap the goodies off the bead bodies you leave in your wake, and pretty much do whatever you want to.
