Hows the connection with the wireless adapter? Do you lag a lot when your playing a game on LIVE?the05birdman
its decent. well honestly i cant tell you because my router is pretty far away from my 360, so i dont know if its because of that. but id say 96% of the time i have great! connection with the adapter
I was looking at purchasing this router but i had a question for anyone that might know. Can i have my Xbox 360 hooked up via ethernet cable and my laptop via wireless and have them both be online at the same time, or do you have to switch between the two (wireless & wired)?the05birdman
I have this router and have everything hooked up just as you described and it works perfectly. My wife can be pissing around on the laptop over wireless and i can be shotgunning people in the face on CoD4 via my ethernet cable connection.
The router is great. So easy to set up and while it does occassionally drop, this is only maybe once a month.
I used to have the same router. It'll work fine with that setup. When I originally started using wireless, I had no problems with lag. The only issue would be loss of connection due to interference. For that reason, I also have my Xbox hardwired while using wireless elsewhere.
In terms of performance, you should see no problems with lag over a wireless connection. The signal simply doesn't take that long to process. Bandwidth is also not an issue since you don't need anywhere near what a 802.11g router can do.
If you have any questions, feel free to let me know. I'm a networking major at school and a CCNAso, while not an expert, I do know something about the subject.
Also, for reference, my old wireless connection was over 802.11b and the interference was coming from a 2.4gig spread spectrum cordless phone. Almost every time I picked up the phone, I lost my wireless connection.

I know someone that is having that same exact problem. One way to fix it is to either switch to a cordless phone operating at 5 GHz or change the channel on the router to either 1 or 11. That SHOULD fix it.
Oh and to the OP...you should be fine as everyone else stated.
i have that exact router, and i have..lets see..
1 labtop, 3 desktops, 1 wii, my roomates ipod touch, my psp, and my 360 all hooked up to it. (desktops and 360 wired, labtop, ipod, and psp wireless) And everything works fine, even while the other 3 computers are running i can connect fine to live.

Yes You can. I do it all the time without any issues. I have it set up exactly as you describe. Now granted performance is all based on your internet connection speed.
