I'm gonna get a 360, but Im not too fond with the 400 dollar price tag on the ones with hard drives.  So I was wondering, can you go online with just a memory card?  I know you can't play old X-box game with out a hard drive, but I don't care.

First of all, the memory card will be fill up with memory fast. The memory card cant hold gamer pics, videos, or gamer profiles. So, no you cant go online seeing as it cant hold gamer profiles.

No my brotha... you definetely need a harddrive to access live.  The minute you sign on, you get updates and a memory card isnt large enough to hold that alone.  Too bad though, I just brought a 120 GB drive and i'm trying to get rid of the old one for more than the $25 Gamestop is trying to hold me hostage for.

First off, please dont bump a topic thats 6 minutes old.  People will tend to ignore or flame rather than help.  The topic will get a post even it it drops to the next page if you just wait a bit.

Now for your question.  Yes, you can use live without a HDD.  However, you will not be able to playanybody that has a patched version of the game you want to play and you will not be able to play any levels of a game that are on different maps you wont have because of the lack of a HDD.  In short, you will not be able to play with the vast majority of players on Live for most of the games.  The memory stick does not help with this problem.  You will regret not getting the HDD and if you buy it after you get the system you will pay more for it.  On the upside however, you can get the 120 gig drive for the price of the old 20 gig model so you at least get more bang for the buck.

Premiums are the way to go. Trust me. I mean hell if you going online, you will get a headset, thats one of the bonuses. Demos downloading, etc.
