I haven't touched an RPG in a while and am looking to pick one up. So far have narrowed it down to Dragon Age or Mass Effect (both of which are Bioware games so I wont be disappointd). I knw DA is newer but from what I've read I think ME plays better on the 360. Maybe someone can offer some insight on these two games or maybe another RPG out or coming out in the near future (before xmas). P.S. Not interested in borderlands, just not feeling it. Also I would definately get DA but it seems it would be WAYY better on a PC so I'm kind of leaning towards mass effect now.
If you like one, you're going to like the other pretty much by default, especially since all of Bioware's games have a similar appeal in how they play. Play both eventually, but if I'd go with Mass Effect first since it's been out a couple of years and you can easily find a used copy for under 20 dollars.
I would actually try for Dragon Age, but it depends on exactly what you're looking for. Dragon Age has a better fighting system. Granted, it wasn't till hindsight that I realized I didn't care much for Mass Effects fighting system. However, with Mass Effect 2 coming out it would be worth getting ahold of Mass Effect as the producers have claimed to tweak the fighting system to improve it more. Now, I'd say I was more fond of Mass Effects story line. So basically, both suffice as good RPG, if you're looking for stories and replay, definitely Mass Effect. Good Story but better fighting system, DA. I would most relate it to Elder Scrolls Oblivion if that helps you. Dragon Age also is having a few good deals for black friday putting it $35-40. A great side thing to consider. Rent mass effect a few times. that'll be like, $15. If you have had the time to play it you'll have gotten the level ups needed for mass effect two. Get DA. Later, mass effect 2 will come out. Then buy that =D.
tough choice, these games are my 2 favorites on the 360. I guess Dragon Age is more a classic hardcore RPG, and Mass Effect has slightly more shooter elements. It all depends what you like. In the end, you'll want to play both.
If I had to choose now, I'd say Mass Effect. It's cheap and Dragon Age is still full price.
