About 50 t0 60 hours if you watch all cut scene
No it usualy happens in JRPG s
About 50 hours. Radom encounters bothered me a little in a couple of areas but not to much.Marka1700
I think the game has pretty scarce random encounters compared to most RPG's.
50-60 hours is about right, though. Its long, but for an RPG, it didn't feel that long to me for some reason. I guess I'm usedjust used to 80-100+ hour RPG's now.
Too many hours. I stopped playing once I got to that magically sealed cave after finding my wife or whatnot. TOO MANY RANDOM ENCOUNTERS MAKES ROTTENBERRY GO CRAZY.
It's old school. Depending on what you want to do, the game is between 30-80 hours. I myself think this is the best RPG to date this gen. Close second being Tales of Vesperia. How long does Lost Odyssey take to finish.....ballpark number of hours?

The Side Quests are a lot of fun, and if they had no point I wouldn't have put 80+ hours into the game.
The Point is, The game is fun and addictive. Youll WANT to do the sidequests because the game is good, not because youll feel youll need to.
IMO its the best JRPG this gen, and to be honost, I don't even think FF13 will come close to beating it in terms of Mature Storyline. There are points in Lost Odyssey that make you tear up, Final Fantasy hasn;t done that in MANY MANY titles.
FF13 will probably be a lot better in terms of gameplay, but I dont see how the story will ever top Lost Odyssey.

I agree. It's Uber long, but its enjoyable all the way. I kept getting sidetracked, and haven't palyed it for a while now. I was on disc 4 i think...soon after you get the little flying boat thing. I was wandering around getting all the major side quests and totally forgot to finish the game. It's great, I suggest you buy it...it's hugely under-rated imo.
Oh my god you people took forever! lol I did it in about 30-40 hours I believe and yes, I did get a large sum of achievements and did my fare share of side quests.Kimbo_Slyce
You missed 10x more than you know then. I didn't even fight for EXP at all through the game and I just ended up at level 90 at the end, 0 time wasted, the game has that much content.
