Yeah the old ones I will miss, but who's to say the new ones wont be as good? All you've seen is a few videos and you don't know much about them.. Nick, the guy in the suit, I noticed him saying "Hey! Watch out for my $1000 dollar suit" but he also says other numbers, like $ 10 000, or $4000. So I think there is more to him than meets the eye. It sounds like he has a story to tell that you will learn more about. He is also funny when he says, "Hey, I'm healing you, now don't go and waste it by getting pounced or something," which is exactly what you are thinking when you are healing someone :). I'm looking forward to learning more about the others too!brandontwbTrue,true...
Eh I don't really care about the whole change of cast. It would be nice though if Valve let players pick survivors out of a cast of 8 instead of 4. Kind of like RE: Outbreak.
I somewhat agree. They should have put more time into the sequel atleast!the whole idea of a new L4D is just not a good idea

What would be awesome would be if you could meet up with the older characters, like in a safe room or something. Or read graffiti from them!CodingGeniusYeah, definitely. Reading graffiti from them would be fantastic, and I think Valve would be the guys that would think of doing something like that. I hope so anyway.
THANK YOU. Finally someone agrees with me!Yes i am defiantly mad about the new characters because they don't look as good as the new ones and they probably wont be as funny.

I'm gonna miss the original L4D characters. Like Francis' complaining, and Louis saying "grabbin pills", and Bill's old man voice, and reviving and dropping Zoey over and over again...Am I the only one angry about the character change?RedReckoning
Who says you have to stop playing L4D just because L4D2 is coming out..??? Aren't there still tons of people playing COD4 even though COD5 is out..?

I know, but I'd like to move on from l4d because its repetitive after playing it for a good couple of months. l4d2 may be better because of the melee weapons and such. I fear I may be drawn away from l4d too much when l4d2 comes out. You understand what I'm saying?[QUOTE="MarcRecon"][QUOTE="RedReckoning"]I'm gonna miss the original L4D characters. Pretty much yeah. The dialouge was hilarious. Who knows-the new l4d2 characters could be just as good. I'm willing to give them a try.[QUOTE="MarcRecon"][QUOTE="RedReckoning"] I know, but I'd like to move on from l4d because its repetitive after playing it for a good couple of months. l4d2 may be better because of the melee weapons and such. ...perhaps...I'm putting money down that the old characters will be somehow referenced in L4D2.

Let's talk about the setting. New Orleans-Thumbs Up or Down? In the Daylight-Thumbs Up or Down?RedReckoningNew Orleans, Thumbs Up! In the Daylight Thumbs Down!
Zombies in daylight = bad idea.
Zombies in dark, gloomy, atmospheric environs? Good idea.
Dumping 4 very well done characters, never to be heard from again = teh suck.
Coming up with a Miaimi Vice reject and 3 other characters no one can associate with = BAD idea.
I love Value. Portal is brilliant, HL2 = great. L4D = great.
IMO they are screwing up something that could be great.
I could be wrong, but zombies in daylight and characters that hold no appeal to me?
Fail.
I guess we shall see.
Coming up with a Miaimi Vice reject and ...

I should add that the only thing that is remotely funny or interesting about any of the characters is that outfit the Miami Vice guy is wearing--holy 1980's.
But not funny in a good way. Funny in a "what in heck are they thinking?" way.
And I will tell you, if I have to listen to "funny" comments spoken in ghetto slang, I will personally write to the NAACP and Rainbow PUSH and request that they put the screws to Valve. They might think that racial stereotypes are funny, but I do not, and I am sure that the few persons of color who play this game (relative to whites) will not appreciate it either. Listening to any "Oh, Mammy" comments or "Me hope dem Zombie man doan be roun' dis corner" type stuff will ruin the game for me. They did a nice job with Louis making sure he sounded intelligent, so there may be hope.
And Daytime in NOLA? NOLA is awesome, but...
Shadows and creepy environs were half the game. Well lit, daytime environs? Ugh.
Still, Valve has shown some real ability, so I guess they get the benefit of the doubt.
But they have made me a bit of a skeptic with their design decisions on this game so far.
I think Valve could make TONS more cash off the left 4 dead series if they kept making sequels at different parts of the world now that I think about it. I think THAT would be cool. Middle Eastern zombies? COD4 meets l4d=greatness

... I might just have a new outlook on L4D2. Now, if they just get Will Arnett to voice him, say those lines (and more! :)), it's an insta buy for me.
