im a girl gamer and whenever people find out im a girl not a 5 year old boy first question asked is if im hot or fat which annoys the hell out of meJnTam

Just ignore them, anyone who says something like that over the internet is an idiot.

So we think that harrassment is one of the major reasons girls are staying off XBL?

Are there girls out there that wanna be on XBL but don't because of this?

If that is the case, you gotta get over it. You're going to get crap on XBL no matter what. So you are a girl, that is the angle they will use against you. You'll get asked about your boobs, asked if you are hot etc.

I am English, so they use that against me. Yes I am a little bored of the Tea jokes - but I get over it

I think many forget that some girls may be married and therefore only play with there husbands,or only play with a group of friends on xbox live or through a bad experience rather not use the mic and have tons of harassment by some male who thinks women are idiotic or otherwise.

It's just how it is,most games are violent and are oriented in what guys are interested in,if there were more female oriented games then the ratio would change slightly but because the market for female 'gamers' is so low compared to male oriented gamers it's not really going to change.

I've played with a few girls over XBL but I noticed that the majority of the time that a girl talks over the mic - they'll usually start to get hit on by the other guys there or that the guys engage in inappropriate dialogue with or about said girl/woman.

There are probably more girls on XBL than we think, but they like to keep quiet to avoid said previous statements.

They're out there you just need to know what they play and where. But honestly, who cares?

There are tons of female gamers, but the fact is the vast majority of gamers are male. Despite decades old stereotypes of games, there is nothing cooler than gaming.And my friends, the fact is that most of the time, women just are NOT as cool as men.Sad but true.

They don't like Ninjas like we do.

They don't like Pirates like we do.

They don't like Zombies, or Robots, or Dinosaurs, or Monkeys, or cyborg dinosaurs being ridden by time travelling Ninja Pirates. Women tend to be more concerned with pointless crap like "oh, I hope I get a good job when I leave college", or "I can work hard and get that promotion!", whilst a guy would be thinking " I wonder if I could squeeze myself through a keyhole".

I'm male.... I only seen 3 girls on Xbox Live and I've had it about 6 months....

I do know a few girls that casually play videogames though.
