Gamespot is so harsh on games it is rediculous, they only reason i come on this site is because they have good information on games

but i don't really care because this is one guys opinion, which further shows how retarted gamespot reviews have become, as if one guy is the final authority on a game

the only sites that have accurate reviews are the ones where more than one person have a say in a game review

I am really enjoying this game, its got a real nice feel to it. but i think 8.5 is a bit harsh

Dude there is no difference between an 8.5 and a 9.0. Reviews are a guide to how good games are, but after all the ultimate reviewer is the gamer. If you really like it, more than any other game, then think it is a 10 and quit complaining.

My favorite game - all time - is Resident Evil 2, and it didnt even get the 9.0 and was no close to the 9.7 of Halo: CE, but dude to me that game is 100 times better than Halo: CE, and thats what matters.

Its around 30 hours of gameplay if you only focus on the main story of the game.

The review is absolutely ridiculous. What was it they gave Halo3 again?? And that was an over-hyped pile of turd. This game easily deserved a 9+ score. Thankfully 99% of the reviews of this game will be closer to 10 than 8. Already read two reviews and both gave the game 9.6 out of 10. A proper score imo. Gamespot are embarrassing themselves now, they have become a hated site with all the Anti Sony nonsense they've been coming out with, and now they're becoming the pick of ridicule from all Xbox360 fans with this latest farce concerning Mass Effect, Clearly the best Action RPG for years and years, and it gets almost the same score as Transformers did, HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAAH, what a bunch of frigging RETARDS!!!!!

Then it's quite obvious that they should have some sort of meeting to fix up things. If there's such a huge GAP between reviews and reviewers I'm sure something must be done. Hell, IF I had a guy working with me who didn't do his job proper or way different than all the rest of us, we'd be sure to tell him.

Personally I think the guy who reviewed ME is way too harsh and the guy who reviewed Transformers must have been on crystal meth that day. And there are many more examples of reviews on gamespot being way off the mark! Bioshock, ratchet and Clank and(the ever so overhyped of all time) Halo 3are two just 3 off the top of my head,

A 9.5 is a must to me, anything less than 9 is a complete BS.football_legend

I haven't played Mass Effect yet, but I have played other BioWare games and they are a awesome developer, so I'll save my comments on the score until after I play it for myself, like all of you should!

I don't care about the score, 8.5 is still good, but I really hated how the video review hardly explained the game and the depth it has, all I recall was negative this, negative that, negative again, never actually talking about what's good in the game to make it 8.5, just what took that 1.5 off. It should have focused on the pros of each aspect of the game mainly, then some cons at the end, not the entire review. So after the review, I really knew nothing more than I did before, did not help my buying decision. They even started the video review with the same old clip we've seen several times this last month.

All I'm saying is the score doesn't bother me, but I hated how the video review was just a big whining fest.

This coming from a guy who scored Orange Box (360) 1/10.LOL Mass Effect doesn't suck, it's got all the depth of past Bioware titles along with some very solid action. I've played it for 20 hrs so far and it just keeps getting better and better. The gamespot review nitpicks some very minor issues and there's no way this game is a 8.5. In my opinion, ME blows every other action/rpg out of the water. I normally don't pay much attention to review scores but this guy dropped the ball big time. Mass Effect is "my" GOTY and I recommend it to anyone looking for an engaging, immersive experience.

Fair enough that they are two VERY DIFFERENT games, but I can understand it ebtter if they gave the 7.8 to a GODD game from that game category, Transformers is plain and simple "repetitive unplayable movie to game" garbage. It's been done 10000000000000000000 times before and game developers should not be rewarded with a proper score after trying t make a quick buck. A game company like Bioware who continues to break the mould should be appreciated a lot higher, espescially on a site with Gamespot's good reputation and stature.

On the reviews of Transformers and ME.. IMO two wrongs DO NOT make a right. So even if they can't be compared they are BOTH WAY OFF THE BLOODY MARK MATE. Same with assassins creed, now that's a game that's repetitive and boring.. not to menton allthe trilions of BUGS in the game. I'm surprised Ubisoft were allowed to release an unfinished product but heeey, it's all about the money now isn't it. Too bad no serious gamerwill ever finish the game cos of all the freezing and screen tearing making them fed up.

No, the only way to get a good score that's not unfair on this site must be to call the game something different. How about... MASS GRAND THEFT HALO EFFECT 3.... yeah, that should do it. Then the reviewer won't even have to test the game, just pop on a 9.9 score and be on his way home!!

I am buying this game no matter what. 7.5, 9.5 or 10.5 - I don't care. The reviews can be somewhat helpful, but like was stated before, don't whine through the whole review and give constructive criticism w/ pros & cons - just imo.
