Mass Effect Issue/Problem

In Mass Effect I cannot get any games loaded or resumed. When I attempt to load, the standard loading screen comes up but then it sends me to a black screen zone where i can interact, but i cannot move or shoot. Any other game I play works perfectly without issue.

Please help, or provide suggestions

Exchange it for another copy and if that doesnt work then call Microsoft.
