Just beat it on hardcore and ready to go again. What a great game with one of the best endings I've ever played! Not gonna spoil it but damn it got emotional at the end. If you haven't played it yet I'd definately recommend it.

Yes it truely was its a shame that GameSpot came down on the glitches that don't even happen frequently or to some people at all. And they especially came down on minor things like framerate and the thresher maw fights when there is what three of them in the whole game? Other than these nit picking issues it is a masterpiece. On my third playthrough ready for a fourth.

I bought this game over a month ago and I've only played it for about 2 hours or so. Ever since COD4 was placed into my 360 I haven't even thought about ME until now. Once I finish the Darkness, I guess I'm going to stop playing COD4 for a little bit in order to play ME. Hopefully the combat gets better because that was my only problem with the game early on.

I totally agree. The glitches were noticable (load delays) but it didn't ruin the game at all. I expect that sort of thing in a good game. The vehicle was tolerable (I preferred getting out and fighting). The only thing that has me scratching my head is why I didn't get the hardcore playthrough achievement... I played hardcore from the start. Oh well.

yea i personally had a BLAST driving around on the planets. and the few fights there were with the giant worms were easy as hell. i dont know why most reviews were bashing those things so much. and the framerate? not a single problem with it for me. not saying there were never framerate drops but never a single one in 30+ hours that ever annoyed me or caused me to die.

Mass Effect started out slow at the beginning so I was growing a bit impatient. So impatient that I had to put away Mass Effect for a while and pick up a copy of Halo 3, to kill some downtime. Towards the end, ME started to have that EPIC feel. And I was thinking to myself, I had to wait so long for the game to get exciting. That's just too bad. But otherwise, ME was a great game with a memorable ending.

Its more of a shooter with RPG elements. Sort of like gears of war over the should type run and gun with equipment and biotic skills (magic essentially). If you ever played KOTOR its a lot like that in every regard besides the combat which is how I just described.

I can see non-RPG fans enjoying this game, as long as they like awesome graphics, gameplay, presentation, voice acting, storytelling, etc.

Framerate issues are there but it really doesn't deter from the gameplay that much.

Nah, the combat pretty much blew. What kind of shooter is this where the bad guys just run up into your face and start shooting at you? What does it say about the state of videogame development when people start to "expect glitches in a good game"? Didnt Bioware delay the game for months? What were they doing...finding more ways to make the interiors all look the same? The voice acting sounded wooden, expecially the main character (at least the guy, I wont punish myself by playing thru it again as the woman). I also wonder where biowares writers went....KOTOR has an excellent storyline, good sidequests. Character development. This Drew Kapahaslals;fl (some Polish name) was as boring as watching paint dry. The sidequests were awful: travel to a system, land on a planet, drive around in the retarded warthog wannabe, and kill some geth. Yawn. The graphics looked to be on par with most 360 games; nothing to right home about, and the famous conversation tree was a joke. Do yourselves a favor and trade ME in for KOTOR 1 & 2, and make your 360 happy. Mine had diarrhea for DAYS after Mass Effect.

This is the ONLY game that I've finished playing and said "wow, I desire to play this game multiple times in successsion." It's one of the few reasons I'm keeping my 360.

I'm not one either, but this game had me hooked. I put in about 32 hours in it for the first play through, went through pretty much every mission, and didn't put anything else in my xbox for about 2 weeks. I had a blast on it. I have started another game straight away. Try it - you might be pleasantly surprised like me... :)

I thought it was pretty good. i like the storyline, it was pretty good, and the acting wasn't that bad at all. The RPG elemnts were great, the missions were fun, Next one should have more diverse interriors, and better enemy AI but in general the game is one of my top 5.

The game is a definite must have for the X360. I only encountered two glitches while playing, and they weren't all that terrible. And the combat system is amazing in my opinion, at the very least due to the fact that it can operate in the RPG genre where turn based combat has reigned supreme for the most part. I've always wanted a shooter that had the RPG exploration elements and here it is! Man I loved this game

It definately has some flaws and alot of glitches (such as 'the fan' coming back to life), but it's still my favourite 360 game so far.

I thought the combat was brilliant, the AI may not have been on par with most shooters, but every element of combat is so flexible, it just has so many opportunities for something interesting. Eg: At one point, two enemies were taking cover at the other end of a room, and there was an explosive 'barrel' just behind them. I used singularity oion the barrel, pulling both if them from behind their cover, and exploding the barrel to kill them without firing a shot. Try doing that in GoW. :P

yea people are just complaing about nothing. the point is that mass effect is a good game. There are WAY more sidequests than just the ones that require you to land on a planet. The voice acting wasnt as wooden as you say maybe your just more of a star wars fan. KoToR 1 and 2 are great games but mass effect's story line was just as good.

That's because it is. ME is a sci-fi "action" RPG so of course you will go around and shoot/biotic things, but it has all the role playing elements. It is one of the best type of RPG's I have played. The only one I liked just as much is Fable, another "action" RPG.

Mass Effect story is as good or better than KOTOR 1, and way better than 2. KOTOR 2 was not handled by BioWare on any level and it was just nowhere as good as the original.

I gotta agree with this guy :?

I thought KOtoR 1 & 2 were a LOT better than Mass Effect. If you guys have never played either of these, I recommend you go and do so asap.

Uninspired side quests, minimal character backstories, character interaction pretty much possible only on the ship, only one main city, appauling item screen, rushed climax story wise...yadda yadda yadda.

It was a good game, but it is no where near being :

1) the best RPG ever

2) the best story ever told in a videogame, let alone ever...

Mass Effect is a great game but it has alot of problems.

1) The Mako handles like a fat man on a unicycle
2) Frame skips and texture loading problems
3) logest lift rides...ever.
4) Pretty dull side quests to fill out a short main plot.

Some of the best voice acting i've ever heard with an excellent universe, story and atmosphere I just can't see how these other problems weren't smoothed over. 8.5/10
