Mic Problem -Help please

My friend is over at my house and after he recovered his GT to play Gears 2 and Halo and my mic wouldn't work for me anymore. It'd work if I'd plug it into his controller, but not mine. Is it a problem with my controller or what?

Like he said make the 2nd player controller the first player and if that still doesn't work than it's probobly the controllers fault

After I restarted my console then went to play by myself it worked again. Thanks though.
