[QUOTE="zombehhhh"]

I know that, but just the fact that I'm still getting charged because all the zombies buy this stuff so everything else gets overpriced.

Tripleseed

I know what you're talking about zombehhhh and I do agree with you. This whole "micro-transaction" thing is a joke and is only going to get worse due to how popular it is. Chances are, all the dorks on these forums who aren't a bit miffed by it aren't because they use their parent's credit cards to pay for this stuff and don't spend their own money on it.

The worst thing I have done this gen is download each map pack for World at War, which are priced at $10 each, simply to obtain three new zombie maps because I love that mode. Granted, I feel as if I've gotten my moneys worth out of them, but still, 10 bucks for a new map is a bit ridiculous. Sadly, there's not much to be done about it beyond simply choosing not to download the extra content. I do feel like a fool at times when I buy shirts off the "Avatar Marketplace" to get rid of the 80 odd points that I can't spend on anything else, but hey, that's life. 80 MSP is only like a buck or so anyhow? Haven't bought a $5 set of virtual armor yet, gladly, and that ODST armor in my sig I got from an achievement.

I completely agree. This whole DLC craze is getting out of hand. I feel as though developers are intentionally releasing things later just to charge 800 MS points later on.

Recently I wanted to play Halo 3 again, but couldn't because I was forced to buy 2 new map packs for 800 MS points a piece. All the good playlists were disabled because I didn't own these maps. This is greed at its highest level. There is no reason to take away features from launch. There is no good reason why I can't just play a playlist without these maps included. DLC does seem to be getting out of hand and I doubt it's stopping any time soon.

I remember with Halo 2 the map packs were free after a few months. I thought this would happen with Halo 3 but instead they are forcing people to buy them if they want to continue to play in matchmaking online. This is not the step in the right direction.

You don't have to buy all the add ons, just the ones you really need.

[QUOTE="lVlonster_X"]i dont get why they charge money to play online. it is dumb in my thought.drocka11
so you can actually... PLAY... online not lag everywhere

the live subscription does not make your game run smoother- your internet connection detemines that. Microsoft charges because they need to pay people their salaries..I guess :P

Its not just microsost, sony does it, publishers do it, there is one group that gives recomendations for prices, and most people listen to them, they are the ones going corrupt if anyone is.

Anyone who already has a 360 and is spending 300' on the "new model" is obviously being foolish, but there are a lot of people who still don't have a 360, and now they'll have a better and improved 360 for the same price as usual, if they ever decide to purchase one.

And sorry, but I think it's fairly dumb for anyone to burn hundreds of bucks for a better looking cover, Wi-Fi (there's a separate device for that, if it matters that much to you) and, apparently, a less-noisy performance.

Don't lie. You can access half of Halo 3's play lists without any DLC. You can still play Halo 3 without DLC. And all the playlist that aren't accessible weren't there at launch to begin with except Big Team Battle.

I see no reason why someone that can afford the upgrade, should not upgrade The new huge HDD, Wi-fi, Kinect port and better look are imporant enough as an upgrade, add the HDMI for those that had a launch 360 too without one

Being able to afford something doesn't mean doing it isn't wrong. The only reason I'd ever trade a functioning 360 for the new one, at the price of 300 bucks, would be if I had bought the Arcade launch version, without an HDMI port.

You want to know why? Because the Kinect Port is basically useless (US$300,00 for one less power source isn't a good deal), the HDD and the Wi-Fi can both be acquired for a total inferior to US$100,00, and if you're going to pay the price for a new console just for better looks and two extra USB ports, shame on you. But hey, it ain't my money. If someone's going to spend their money on a few class C upgrades, it's their problem.

Oh, and let me leave this clear: I'm totally hyped about the new 360. I loved it, specially since it's the same price as the old one. I just don't think people who have working 360's should buy a new one. It's unecessary.

Typically I'd agree with you, but all the old models just aren't reliable. If this new one fixes that, I'm all for it. My 360 is a pre hdmi and generally works about 70 percent of the time. And when it does work, it doesn't do so gracefully.

One word, business. Businesses are in it for a profit. Get used to it because this won't be changing anytime soon.

Well the fact that this topic has at least 7 pages worth of comments means that alot of poeple are also aggrevated by this "overpricing" dilemma. I for one have created a topic such as this on this forum who knows were it is now, but I was saying something similiar only regarding the prices of games.

I also think that $60 for a game straight out of the factory is expensive, but I have figured out a way to stick it to the corporate bullies, buy used games for half off, and wait a couple months for prices to go down. I just bought prince of persia FS on Ebay for like $30, good deal for a semi-new game.
