I'm not an expert but i'd unplug the ps2 and ps3 unless you need them on. Plus how good of a surge protector it is would probably help too.

I have no clue what a "surge pro" is, but if its a very high quality version then you should be fine...but if its cheaply made and something happens...not a happy ending.
I had tons of freezing before my launch 360 stopped reading discs...and when it stopped reading discs i bought a new 360 with the Falcon chip, instead of paying MS $100 to replace my disc drive with a refurbished POS. In the end, my newer 360 runs 150% better, for many reasons. I know its not the option for everyone...but any 360's prior to Oct 07 are prone to break sooner than later.
the power brick IS the surge protector. Plug it directly into the wall, I've done that for 3 years now and no problem. The manual even tells you to plug it directly into a wall.linklb4130
This poster is right dont put it into a surge protector. I got the rrod 2 days ago and I had the same symtoms as you so it may come.

EVERY manula tells you to plug things up to the wall. Thats where most people plug things up....I have my stuff plugged into a protector. IF the 360 goes out, it goes out. Nothing else I have has failed me. 360 is junk thats all.
