Whenever people get that it's an early sign of the RROD. Plus i'm pretty sure it can't get a virus and don't plug it directly into the socket if there's a power surge bye bye xbox 360.

I'm not an expert but i'd unplug the ps2 and ps3 unless you need them on. Plus how good of a surge protector it is would probably help too.

the power brick IS the surge protector. Plug it directly into the wall, I've done that for 3 years now and no problem. The manual even tells you to plug it directly into a wall.

I have no clue what a "surge pro" is, but if its a very high quality version then you should be fine...but if its cheaply made and something happens...not a happy ending.

I had tons of freezing before my launch 360 stopped reading discs...and when it stopped reading discs i bought a new 360 with the Falcon chip, instead of paying MS $100 to replace my disc drive with a refurbished POS. In the end, my newer 360 runs 150% better, for many reasons. I know its not the option for everyone...but any 360's prior to Oct 07 are prone to break sooner than later.

Sorry to hear, good luck.

hes right the power supply is the surge protection. your not suppost to plug it into the power bar/surge protectors. i made that mistake when i first got my 360 and it froze alot, then i pluged it into the wall and its been fine for almost 2 years now.

i am a electrician and ive had power surges in my house when its storms here and my xbox was just fine. but ive seen alot of ppls homes that where not properly grounded, that maybe could couse problems. either way a power strip surge protector is NOT a good idea, plug it into the wall outlet!

ok heres what i remember when it started happening on my first 360 few months ago.its been a week or two i havent played 360,then after i decided to play gears of war online, i was waiting for the match to start. you know in gears when you get bored and you keep pressing a and b button and you see on the cog sign appear and disappear while you pressin it? i was doin that then suddenly it froze... i thought it was just normal freezing i restarted it and on the gears title screen it froze, that made me nervous. i tried playin other games halo, cod they all froze. so i got a new 360 and it worled fine i was playing it a couple of weeks with just cod 4 online and bourne conspiracy which i manage to beat. after i beat bourne i stopped playing for a week again and when i played cod 4 online after less than hour it froze.from there on i tried everything i can do, i even tried playin on my girlfriends gamertag to see if it has somethin to do with it and still froze, detach the hard drive and it wont even load up to dashboard. AND this FALCON chip is it just in the elite 360's? cuz if im gettin one ill get another 20 gig cuz its cheaper now.

I had constant game freezes for awhile, and then RROD. Then I somehow fixed the RROD but its still freezing every single time I start up my xbox, whether in the initial loading screen or when I start playing a game. Does anyone know how to fix this?

EVERY manula tells you to plug things up to the wall. Thats where most people plug things up....I have my stuff plugged into a protector. IF the 360 goes out, it goes out. Nothing else I have has failed me. 360 is junk thats all.
