I'm moving to Japan at the end of the month, and only my 360 is coming with me (if I get it back from being RROD'd on time) I am also only bringing a shoebow full of games to save space on travel and to limit myself so I can establish a social life. The number of games I can fit into the shoebox is 26 (27 actually, but my Limited Edition Mass Effect takes up two spaces) I've got mind made up on 24. I've tried to make it round and varied as possible, and I am having trouble deciding the last game. Help me decide?

XBox

Beyond Good and Evil (not BC, but its my favorite game, so its coming)

Burnout 3 Takedown

Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge

Freedom Fighters

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Halo: Combat Evolved

The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction

Jade Empire

Jet Set Radio Future

Ninja Gaiden Black

Panzer Dragoon Orta

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

Psychonauts

Sega Soccer Slam

Sid Meier's Pirates! Live the Life

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic

XBox360

Bioshock

Burnout Revenge

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warefare

Crackdown

Dead Rising

Gears of War

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

Mass Effect

The Orange Box

So that's 25. I have space for one more game. I'm leaning away from shooters since I have enough. I also am giving priority to multiplayer games since I already have friends over there looking forward to playing with me. But I fo have a slew of great XBLA games...here are the frontrunners for the last spot. I'm looking for something engaging with a lot of replay value and MAYBE can be enjoyed by a large group.

Halo 3 - again, leaning away from shooters. Plus I haven't touched it since the weekend it came out.

Rainbow Six Vegas - has co-op which is nice, but Call of Duty 4 is better all around for multiplayer

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition - probably will never get around to beating a game this large. The size intimidates me, and I don't want a game that will lock me away. But it looks like it will last me a long time

ESPN2K5 - I like arcade style sprts better, which is why I have Sega Soccer Slam. But this is my American pastime, and I will miss it if it doesn't come along.

Shenmue 2 - fun adventure, but lacks replay value and not fun to watch

I-Ninja - fun little game that comes off as too shallow to last me very long

Indigo Prophecy - zero replay value, but great while it lasts

MechAssault - not really a shooter, but its a fun multiplayer game. Not BC yet though, and who knows if it will be

Phantom Dust - probably THE front runner at the moment. Has a good online community, fun offline mutliplayer, lots of replay value, and a pretty fun and engaging single player mode

Toejam and Earl III - fun co-op, but crappy shallow game

Psi-ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy - great shooter but not yet BC

Deus EX: The Invisible War - again, great replayable shooter/RPG, but not yet BC

Mercenaries - fun, but sequel is on the way and will most likely be overshadowed. Plus I have Vice City coming with me, and wil have GTAIV on release

Fable - never played it, but I heard it was pretty fun

Metal Arms Glitch in the System - I think it's an overrated underrated game, but it can be fun with friends

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - I dunno why I'm an even thinking this as I have no fun when playing it

So what's the best bet to round out my colection for the next few years? I'm open to suggestions as well on anything I might have overlooked or missed. I will still be getting new releases via carepackaging from the USA, so these aren't the ONLY games I will be playing.

I'd say take Phantom dust because it seems like that interests you the most. Personally, I would pick Halo 3 but thats just me. And if you don't mind me asking, why are you moving to Japan?

LOL I'm assuming you know Japanese. Why don't you just buy one of those CD portable things where you can put them in little sleeves? More games are going to fit.

Yeah, I minored in it in college. And I prefer to have the cases with me. The 360 is already fragile enough, and I don't want to run the risk of scratching the games

I guess I've only ever owned crappy CD cases. I just don't trust them after how many movies they have ruined

Best of luck with the move man, Japan is an awesome place to be. If I had a recommendation, it would be to sell all the games and systems and use the movie for wiser "spendings" in Japan. That is just my personal opinion though. Enjoy yourself there bud!

Well you said you want to establish a social life so multiplayer is the way to go (maybe Halo 3). Maybe leave the game with the large box behind to fit more in. If you don't trust CD sleeves maybe you could use jewel cases. Either way 24 games is a lot of games so you will probably be satisfied with whatever you choose.

If you're trying to limit the shooters, maybe you could remove a single-player shooter from the list and replace it with Halo 3.

Consider that some of those Xbox games are downloadable, so you can leave them behind and redownload them if you want to. Halo, Crimson Skies, Psychonauts, and Indigo Prophesy are all downloadable.

There's about 500 of them, so I don't think so...

Anyway, it is true I can download some of these. I will take out the first Halo and replace it with Halo 3, and download the first Halo if I ever get the need to play it. That still leaves one open since my Psychonauts case isn't going anywhere. I'm one of those upities about the neatness of my gaming cases as well. probably why I hate cd books

I also have another dilema. I am currently RROD'd, and after I move, I will be out of my warrenty since it only applies to Canada and the USA. I am thinking about trading in my 360 and upgrading to the Halo 3 360 since the guy at Gamestop says its the only one with the fail proof chip. I get $170 at gamestop for a harddrive-less 360. I'll probably shoot for higher online, but I doubt I will score the $400 needed for it. The assurance my 360 will not fail abroad is definitely one I would like to have. Good idea? I'm not trusting a regular 360 anymore after what happened

Actually, I don't play a lot of JRPG's anymore, but Eternal Sonata has looked pretty tempting lately with a reduced price tag. Maybe that might earn a spot if its any good

I live in japan ,and when i moved i did the whole 300+ CD case thing, lol it weighs like 25 lbs, but its worth it to have all my games and movies. On a side note, actually some japanese 360 games are region free, live i've boughten halo 3 here, its english menus japanese dub with english subs. If you go to play-asia.com they have an updated list of which games will work for multiple regions.

Here is a link to the list of Xbox Originals you can download: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/xboxoriginals/default.htm

There aren't many yet, but they will make more available. I think they cost $15 each.

well if all goes well and i get the place i want it will be on the western rim of tokyo in an area called Mitaka (3 hawks). i'v been there before and i realy liked it, and because it's just outside of the official city limits rent is pretty cheap, and the JR lines still run there.

Take the artwork sleeves out of all your games and put them in the bottom of the shoebox. Put all the discs in a CD wallet, then when you get to Japan buy a load of empty green DVD cases to put them in. You get the best of both worlds - all the games, and in cases :D

Best of luck with the move. You'll have an awesome time out there :D

It's had for me to pick because 3 of my favorite games are in there (Psi Ops, Metal Arms, and OBLIVION)

If I had to pick though I'd go with OBLIVION, because even though I love the other games OBLIVION will last longer.

Since you are leaning away from shooters (well, more shooting) I was going to say Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory... but since you said you don't really have fun playing it, I just say Rainbow Six: Vegas...

is it really necessary to make a thread about which one or two games you should take with you? Or is this more to tell everyone you're moving to Japan. Anime has destroyed an entire generation of kids. Whatever happened to becoming an engineer or architech? Nowdays, it seems half the kids I see want to move to Japan and draw anime and meet Japanese school girls (btw... I dated 2 Japanese girls in college... to be honest... they're really not that different from dating any other type of girl).

You're making a lot of assumptions there. He didn't mention anime at all. I'm sure he spent a lot of time considering and planning the move, so please respect his decision. Besides, if people really want to pursue a career in anime, then there's nothing wrong with that.
