This new elite 360 is the biggest ripoff ever!!! I bought the 360 on launch day, and now there coming out with this. I am sorry, but this is BS. I have a 360 to play games not all this other stuff. I wish game machines would go back to what there primarily for, playing a fun game. I will keep the 360 that I have and start saving up for a PS3. What are your thoughts on this.
My thoughts are...if you are only concerned with gaming then why even create this thread? There is absolutely nothing about your gaming experience that is changed by the introduction of the X360 Elite, except that you could be playing with a black controller instead...
yeah it sucks, but let me put it this way; i'd much rather have it from day one and play all the way up untill now, than having to wait till next month from now to get it.
what the hell du you need the HDMI port for anyways. 50 bucks says nobody would notice the difrence between a game playing with 1080i and 1080p, you know what, make that 1000 bucks. the only thing i want is the harddrive wich i will get for sure

I just wish the new hard drive wasn't so expensive. After buying that you'll have paid $579 (assuming you originally bought the premium version) for a 360 that still doesn't have everything that's on the new elite version for $479.

Trust me don't spend your cash on PS3! If you want what PS3 offers then just trade in your old 360 for the new one. As stated above, your gaming experience is not going to be different so I wouldn't get to upset about it. THis is just an attempt for MS to combat some features that PS3 has, nothing that big really.
True to some of the above statments. I don't even know why I get upset over this crap, it's such a waste of time. If you want an elite go ahead, but I think I will stay with the current 360.

I disagree here. I have a PS3, and upgraded the hard drive to a 120 GB for 70 bucks. The reality is these games are gonna start using more and more space. They got rid of the Arcade limit. If you are an MMO fan, which I am, games like Conan and Huxley are gonna take up a load of hard drive space. The reality is you will be losing core functionality with out upgrading the hard drive. Charging 180$ bucks for a regular drive in a proprietary enclosure is highway robbery. Some just don't recognize this yet.

Wait, so all you want to do is play games on your 360? You can already do that right? With the system you already have? Then what's the big deal? What exactly has you so irritated? No one is forcing you to buy it, and if the changes aren't at all important to you then there's nothing wrong at all. Also, you talk about wishing systems either just played or primarily played games, but you also talk about buying the PS3 which is basically a blu-ray player and game system. Sorry man, but you don't make much sense.

if you get the new hard drive you might as well have bought a PS3 heck your only 21 dollars off from doing it. Why would they make the stand alone HDD 180 thats ridiculous and this is valid because im sure every one that has an HDD now wants more space.
Get over it, this is the way technology works. I'm complaining that my HDTV costs several hundred dollars less than when I bought it, but I got over it. In time something new comes out and prices fall on others.

The 360 has always been a gaming machine other than its ability to play DVDs and some other things its more gaming oriented then the PS3 (at least MS lets you choose whether to get bluray/hddvd) but yes I would prefer systems return to just games like the good ol days of dreamcast and such.

are you serious then you didnt have a dreamcast the dreamcast got us into this muti media thing....it was the first with internet, a web browser (which was good for its time) and the funny multifunction controller.
