Absolutelynot. They have been doing just about everything right from the start with LIVE including charging the $50 a year to play. I'm sorry but Sony's service just doesn't match up to LiVE, from top to bottom. . . if anything, I think we will see Sony starting to charge for a premium service and Qore is the first step in testing the waters for this, . . watch, you'll see. So no, people are paying for the Gold membership in droves, . . it would be a bad move on their part to end the pay Gold membership.
Its cheap enough as is. Just over 4 bucks a month to play any game you want online. When considering MMO games on PC their users are paying $15 a month just for one game. For what we get yeah its pretty cheap. We could get a bit more like actual servers so we didn't have to deal with hosting issues but what ever it still works untill everyone decides to get on at one time like at christmas and when CoD4 maps are released than it shuts down.Ket87
It's dumb to say you pay 4 bucks a month for Live when you can't pay $4 a month because you can't buy that separate. You have to buy a month, 3 months, or a year.
I think the MC announcement will be it's Miis or it's Motion control Peripheral (On a sidenote, both are doomed to failure). And due to the fact that Xbox Live is the least of my monthly bills, and already own a 360, any "Price Drop" is inconsequential.
If LIVE went free, that would be terrible. They would have to make the entire service mediocre, since it wouldn't be making any money. What really sets LIVE apart from Playstation Network is the quality of the service. You get that quality because you pay.

i don't think it will happen. the people paying for live, they would either need to have a release date for it to be free or microsoft would need to give money back.
I also agree that it won't happen, but just think if it did, and if Microsoft dedicated enough money to the venture to maintain the same level of service. Teh PS3 would be teh DOOMED :twisted:!

So I suppose it also wouldn't be proper to say that XBL costs 96 cents per week or 13 cents per day. I'll let some other intrepid soul break it down by the hour, minute, and second. :D
