If I had to guess, I'd say you'd probably get a 20 gb. If my understanding is correct, the red ring of death means there's something wrong with the CPU, and that your hard drive is fine, in which case they'll probably replace the console and snap your hard drive onto it.

Your hard drive has nothing to do with RROD. You do not send your hard drive.

The repair center people you talk to on the phone (and plus the instructions you get with the box they send for you to put your Xbox 360 that needs repaired) tell you specificially NOT to include your hard drive and to remove it from your system.

So this is not a way to get a 60GB hard drive.

Like everyone has said, you don't send in your hard drive. And also i'm pretty PRETTY sure they send you a different refurbished console from the same year that yours was manufacted. This doesn't happen all the time, but most of the time.

Mine got red rings of death a while back and they just repaired the console (yeah they specifically say to take the HD and faceplate off). So u'll get the same console back, just with a new cpu.

I would recommend that you not do this. The Intercooler has been known to cause problems of its own.
