Get a fan blowing into the side of it and if its big enough it will blow the hot air away from the back too

I find this happens too. I use it in a room with a Wii and an LCD TV. When I use the wii it's much cooler, but when I use the Xbox the room heats up considerably. When two laptops are on in the room with the xbox and the TV, it's unbearable. The room's a 5mx5mx5m cube, making 120m3 of volume (because of furniture I subtracted some. assuming the air in here is 1.3kg per cubic meter, that's 156kg of air. It takes roughly 1kJ of energy to heat up 1kg of air by 1 degree celsius.

meaning you need 156kj to raise it 1 degree

so, 116KWh (xbox energy consumption) means that in a few hours your room would heat up.

I know the calculations are by no means nearly accurate i'm just trying to get the point across, and I was bored.

But that just moves the hot air, it doesn't cool it down (I think)

Haha yeah the same happens to me. At night when the windows are closed and the AC isn't on, I usually have my 360, my HDTV, my Mac, and my laptop running with the door closed. My room turns into a furnace. Living in Southern California doesn't help, either.. Sometimes I turn on the AC but I'll wake everyone else up so I tend not to.

If you live in Florida, you should have AC in your room. Problem solved.

The newer models seem to be much cooler (Jasper) so maybe you need to get a new 360?
