My account got banned... advice please

Hi my original gamertag got banned, I have over £150 in downloadable games/content however I cannot access it on any other gamertag.

Is there anyway to access my downloaded content/games? or is it gone with my gamertag?

This is not me complaining btw, just wondering if I can access my rock band/guitar hero songs and my DLC and arcade games on my unmodded Xbox.

Ye that console was modded, so im down to one console now. Im unsure if the consoles banned or just that account.... havn't really tested it. I am using the same HDD on my other Xbox (unmodded) and it works fine apart from the fact I cannot access my previous saved content from the banned account.... bit of an annoyance but nothing to drastic.wigan_gamer

There has been all this talk lately of "modding" 360's. What exactly are people modding that is getting them banned and such? They can't be referring to case mods like lights and stuff.IAmDazzle

Please of course im going to mod :) I will just get single player games for the banned modded one which is all I did anyway :/ I have 25-30 real games from them plus all my D/L content... its not like they dont get enough of my money. Anyway looks like I cant get the content on any other profile other than the offline banned one.wigan_gamer

If microsoft isn't letting you keep the points or downloads that you purchased, that's ILLEGAL. That would be like getting banned from wal-mart and then they come and take every item out of your house that you bought from wal mart.RBerry82

Im pretty sure they ban the console not the account so the account should work on an unbanned console.

Nope it's done. The content is related to that gamertag and is unusable.

what he did is NOT illegal. You are legally allowed (here at least) to have 1 back up of each copy of your games. Microsoft can't prove that you don't own the game that you are playing as a backup. The only reprecaution from opening the xbox is voiding the warranty. They can't make it illegal to open their console though because once you purchase it... it is your hardware to do whatever you want with it.

Now going online might not have been your best idea...

It's illegal to copy games..... =-) Microsoft doesn't allow copies to be used as many will not be their copy as you say.

Because disks never scratch and if you've ever used a 360 and knocked it over (IE: had it on its side and then had it fall, or fall off a table) you'll know for sure it never EVER eats a disk and totally destroys it. So having a back up to save yourself 60 dollars would totally be impossible.

There is the problem of people making copies and selling. (modern warfare leaked early.) They do not want to verify if the copy is yours. They just don't allow any to solve it quick.

Well my console was modded with fans and such to keep it cool.... then I got it so it could play copied games, I only have about 5 copies tbh and never played before release. Any game I was gonna play online I buy legit. Guess I was unlucky I got caught since I know some that play every game on a back up online and off. Ok...if you honestly believe the dudes not done anything illegal you obviously dont have much experience with people who mod their consoles and burn copies. I've never met a single person who makes a copy for their own personal use and never will I likely see someone do so. 100% of the time its just someone who cant be bothered to go to work like the rest of us and actually buy a genuine copy. I mean honestly stuff like the "back up" and "own personal use" excuses were getting old when the original playstation popped up :roll:
