My account got banned... advice please

Hi my original gamertag got banned, I have over £150 in downloadable games/content however I cannot access it on any other gamertag.

Is there anyway to access my downloaded content/games? or is it gone with my gamertag?

This is not me complaining btw, just wondering if I can access my rock band/guitar hero songs and my DLC and arcade games on my unmodded Xbox.

You were probably banned for being a pirate, so I'd say you deserve this. And no there isn't any way to get it back.

yes, what i find funny is how all these people are bagging him for modding, pirating whateva, i bet alot of you would mod thair consoles if it was like downloading music and very easy to get away with, hell i freely admit if knew for sure i wouldnt be banned id do it, so yeah people lay off this guy, your smugness is unwarrented

Modding online also impacts other gamers. Would you find it fun to play against an invincible enemy? A guy you couldn't see? A glitcher hiding under the floor? I for one find these people annoying, and I hope they all get Teh Banhammer!!!!:D

Well my console was modded with fans and such to keep it cool.... then I got it so it could play copied games, I only have about 5 copies tbh and never played before release. Any game I was gonna play online I buy legit. Guess I was unlucky I got caught since I know some that play every game on a back up online and off. Thats what most people mod them for Iamdazzle, to play back ups.wigan_gamer

Ok...if you honestly believe the dudes not done anything illegal you obviously dont have much experience with people who mod their consoles and burn copies. I've never met a single person who makes a copy for their own personal use and never will I likely see someone do so. 100% of the time its just someone who cant be bothered to go to work like the rest of us and actually buy a genuine copy. I mean honestly stuff like the "back up" and "own personal use" excuses were getting old when the original playstation popped up :roll:

It may be true that most (you're 100% wrong about using the term all) people who learn how to copy do so for pirating purposes, but at the same time the reasons I don't learn to make personal use back-up copies of my games on the 360 are 1. the difficulty involved and 2. potential loss of purchased accounts and consoles. After all, I know you're not suggesting that if it were perfectly legit and easy to back up your discs for a $1 a disc that anyone would be dumb enough not to do it. We all started making back-ups of our audio to protect our cds years ago, which is why I have like 40 useless scratched up copies of my cds, but a collection of pristine originals sitting on my shelf. Companies certainly have a very legitimate concern about piracy, but make no mistake, when we (as a democracy) side with thosecompanies and pass a law like the DMCA we are doing so at least partially at the expense of traditional consumer fair use rights. My 360 made a loudnoise the other day and one of my games came out with a lovely scratch across the whole diameter of the disc, I now get to pay $30 or so to replace that disc (and no, that is not hypothetical scenario, it literally happened the other day), but I guess I don't mind working a couple more hours for nothing so long as MS and Sony are protected from piracy.

Oh, and how could personal use be an old "excuse" when the PS1 popped up (in 1995) when the DMCA, the law that made circumventing electronic DRM illegal, wasn't even passed till the end of 1998?

Seriously, ignore these guys who are on their little witch hunt, it sucks that you lost that stuff, I don't know how you can recover it because I think the licenses for the download attach to a certain gamertag.

This is wrong, yes modding a xbox360 is illegal and should not be done but the penalty is way too harsh. MS should just ban that particular console and not the gamertag itself. I mean common, you have purchased a lot of stuff through Marketplace with the gamertag.

How can you get banned anyway from Xbox live??? I mean you cant cheat online on Xbox and you cant erhmm you cant do anything that can get you banned?
