so games have had vibration in the controllers for some time, and it's awesome. but i think that when the next wave of consoles come out, they should have something else in the controllers. I was thinking that when something hot or cold happened in the game, ie, you're in some snowy place, or your gun overheats, that the controller could somehow heat up, and cool down. i know they have those controllers with the fan to cool your hands, but those aren't integrated with the game. Does anyone else think this would be cool?

I think that's kinda stupid. The controller would cost too much, also I wouldn't want my hands to be cold or warm. In fact it wouldn't be imersive at all because it just reminds you that you're playing it on a controller. I think the next thing to do is maybe put a speaker in the controller like Wii has. It works well for some games.

I don't think it's stupid. It's an interesting idea... although it would be completely impractical to implement. A system that would be able to change temperature to match what was onscreen fast enough would require a great deal of power. It would be impossible to have a wireless controller running on batteries last more than 5 minutes. Secondly the safety issues would be immense, what if the temperature sensors failed and it burned someone? Huge lawsuit issue. It's a really cool idea actually, but I don't see it being possible to do with current technology.

Actually it sounds pretty lame, the only thing would be to improve ergonomics , standardize shooter controls, and add some motion controls to certain games (such as driving or flying games).

The last thing I would want would be motion controls... the very very last. I'd rather my controller heat up to 1000 degrees and singe off my flesh before I'd want my hardcore games cluttered up with silly motion controls.

I said for SOME games, and I also think they should be able to program the game to work both ways. You aren`t being very open minded, when it comes to selling more games, motion control is def in the future, like it or not. Check the sales charts.

heh... You sound like a fanboy..I think motion controls are awesome. Maybe you gave some time to them instead of just writing them off as silly you would think so too.

I own all the systems, I'm talking from experience.

There would have to be a warning label that says Warning: contents may be hot/cold. Plus, think of all the lawsuits people would have claiming that their controller burned them. PLus, the controller would probably be huge to fit a thermostat and heating/cooling devices. I would rather have little vibration pads that you could put on your body so that if you got hurt on your leg you would feel a vibration on your leg.

body vibration sounds cool. but they might recall that because people would be using it for naughty things (ie the harry potter vibrating broom) and there would be a lot of wires. make it wireless and that sounds cool.
