I like how you're a level one. But normally a DVD drive would not be able to chip or break the disks in the methods you've listed. The only possible outcome from the disk drive would be scratches which would occur from tilting the system while playing.

Quit capsing. No one cares for screaming. This issue might be due to placing the box in a vertical position. Try using it in a horizontal position. You won't get anywhere by suing. Step back and see what YOU could be doing wrong. Look through the older threads again as well, and see if the others have found a fix for the issue. P.S- Please fix your grammar because it is atrocious.

Are u pushing down the release in the middle of the game case? That is the ONLY thing that can cause a problem like that. A lot more games are coming in those stupid center release cases, hope that helps. PS. STOP YELLING!

ok, do not tilt the xbox while playing, if your xbox is standing up, lay it down. if it is laying down, stand it up. this may help.

It's usually the game case that does this. It happened a few times to my friend. I noticed he just pulls the disc out of the case without pressing the center.

Actually this happened to my friend, his Halo 3 got chips starting from the middle then cracked, then his fifa 09, then his gears of war 2 on the first day of buying it, and also his orange box and GTA 4. When he bought a new copy of Halo 3 the xbox did it again and the xbox bricked it around that time as well. Now i know it's not how my friend handles his games because he has lots and all of the games he played around the time his 360 broke got chipped as mentioned above. The rest of his games were fine, ok he wasn't using them bue as soon as he got a new xbox it hasn't happened since. So i reckon it's the 360. He also had his Xbox in the Horizontal position all the time.

I believe the guy, the same thing happened to me with halo 3 a while back. It was refurb # 3 or 4, can't remeber at this point. My 360's have always been in a horizontal stationary position with plenty of ventilation.

Well, I'm playing, hear a terrible grinding sound, so I immediatly take the disk out. There was a crack propogating from the middle ring that was accompanied by thick concentric circles. It was solely done by a faulty 360. I immediately called up microsoft, got them to send me a new unit. The thing is they weren't even gonna do it since it didn't have the red rings. After a breif discussion where I basically told her that I would call back later and claim it has the red rings, she agreed to take mine in. Thank god I had the warranty at eb games so I could have my Halo 3 replaced.

I have countless games and dvd's, not a sinlge dics before that was cracked, and not a single one afterwards was cracked; the 360 was soley at fault. Be a bit considerate and not so quick to dismiss the guy, he could very easily be telling the truth when it comes to faulty 360's.

Damages like that usually occur from removing the game from it's box without properly pushing down the middle latch that holds it.

I agree with the posters that are saying it's the game case. Your 360 doesn't really do that, it only amplifys a crack that's already there. If there's no stress cracks on your disc when you put it in the 360 I don't think it's spinning around at high volicity is going to crack it.

It's the case that houses your disc. The center plastic part is the culprit. I don't press my disc down in the case anymore, I just let it rest on top of the push pin. Just invest in a disc sleeve holder thing to hold your games in or something. I forget the name of them

I decided to place my MW 2 and Fallout discs in a CD case for fear that the cases will crack them. It scratched them instead. They were literally mint before I placed them in the CD case. (I always inspect my discs to see if my Elite scratches my games.) How's that for bad luck. Now, I'm reconsidering of ever buying CD cases in the future. :x
