I have a predicament. The 360 that I have currently has had the red rings twice, and has recovered twice. It's constantly freezing on me during Chrome hounds and Call of Duty 4. (no, it's not my games themselves) I can't send it in, otherwise I'd have to pay a charge of $170 since my xbox is "under warranty", but doesn't have the red rings at the moment. (why, I have no Idea) What should I do? I've been trying to get it to have the red rings by playing call of duty while listening to music (that usually works) but it's not working.

Throw your 360 in a bathtub and don't get in with it. You'll have a broken 360 but you won't be clean :(

Play it lots, leave it on constantly...I've never heard of anyone getting the RROD deliberately, except for the towel trick (wrap the 360 in a towel while playing for a few hours and that will cause it to overheat, in turn initiating the RROD)

No you need to get in with it or else it will not have the required human sacrifice.

I had the EXACT same problem a you but, instead i used the towel trick to try to fix it (what did i have to lose?) yesterday and it worked like a charm. my xbox works like it was brand new, i heard it was only temporary, but i really dont care. Also, i think microsoft will take it if you even see the rrod once.

Yeah, I tried that trick, and it worked wonderfully for about half a week, until I got it the second time. Maybe I'll recall microsoft, perhaps my dad was mistaken...

Hmmm, I just sent mine in because of a problem with the disk tray and didn;t have to pay a thing; they never mentioned anything about a payment.
