okay why blame xbox live i know people have problems private chatting with other people and joining games and such but thats because people have strict nats you may have an open one but do your friends when you join their games on halo 3 does it say that person dosent have their internet right because if so thats the problem but its not xbox live

the hosts NAT needs to be open aswell.
Also the Automatic net detection fails miserably. I have an open nat, if I sign in, search for a game I may find 2 - 3. I also have trouble joining hosts. Sign out, run the XBL test, it says its open (yes we knew it was) but it forces XBL to recognise your open nat. I then search again and find 10 -14 games and could join the hosts I couldnt.
my point is. ALWAYS run the xbox live test before you play games when you first turn your xbox on. make sure it has dectected your NAT correctly.
