NBA Live '09 demo....what do you think?

I haven't tried the demo yet (Will DL it maybetomorrow). BUt I've been a 2k guy since Live 06. But with Fiba in Live 09. I might have to check it out if it turns out good (doubt it last 3 been garbage)chansaet

Okay, I have to say that I have been a 2K fan since 2K7 (I had 2K6 but I also liked Live 06 for the gameplay) since Live 07 revamped the gameplay and made it HORRIBLE!!! Well, I downloaded the demo of Live 09 to see if they had tightened the screws... and I have to say they did and then some!!! The new DNA 365 and the NBA Rewind are AWESOME additions but the gameplay itself it very good! I am happy to say I can finally buy NBA Live again and know it is solid and fun! I have been a Live fan for years and was very disappointed with how bad the gameplay was with 07 and 08 (06 had different gameplay and was very fun, it just had almost nothing to do) so I am very happy to see Live 09 is looking great! There are some funny hiccups here and there but that's to be expected with a demo (since the gameplay is usually at least a couple months old). Overall it's awesome. The only thing that stinks is that now I may have to buy two basketball games!!!

The player models are grotesque, did anyone look at the players before they made the game?

So you don't like the models? I thought the faces looked AMAZING!!! But I certainly do agree that it's the best bball game I have played (gameplay-wise since I haven't played the full game and can't try out the different modes).

1.Everyone was really skinny

2.The controls felt unresponsive. It made my joystick feel "heavy"

3. The shooting animations were horrible. Kobe's shot looked really weird, the beginnning of his shot and how he lands foward were off. Ray Allen's sig shot looked really nice though

4.Somehow I made a turn around 3pt with KG

I bought 2k8 last year over live 08, so I can only compare this game to 2k8 and not live 08. I find the controls on this game to feel very Arcady like (not sure if it's the same as live 08). I love though LOVE the 365 aspect of the game... well it looks good on paper anyway. For this reason alone I will buy Live 09, I think I can get use to the controls as it's just different then 2k8 for obvious reasons.

Can anyone tell me this is the 365 the only thing that will be new from Live 08 to Live 09 or is there other differences that people notice?

I also might not legally be able to buy a NBA game this year due to David Stern robbing Seattle of the Sonics so if I support the NBA over here I might get kicked out of town (yeah NBA is really hated over here right now)!

Yes, the faces freak me out

They have a Resident Evil "meat" look to them

Especially in each player's bio page when the game shows you all the different features

You honestly think it has better gameplay than 2k8? I mean I loved the demo and will be getting both most likely, but play the demo of Live and then play 2k8 and you will see how superior 2k still is in gameplay. Overall Live will have better features this year but not gameplay, and wont have better gameplay for a couple more years.

I do feel like it's better gameplay than 2K8 and I played 2K8 a week ago. To me the gameplay seems more like real life and I love the animations. That's just me though. Nobody has to agree, it's one mans opinion.

Been playing it a bunch more today and its definatly the best NBA LIVE in the last 8 years imo. If thats enough to dethrone 2k9 for hte hoops title, only time will tell.

This could be the first time in YEARS that i buy two NBA games.

Ive been playing NBA LIVE for close to 20 years... the last 8 years NBA LIVE has been TERRIBLE... the gameplay is not realistic basketball. Its arcadey basketball that ius a DUNK fest with everyone dunking every time down the court.

But this years LIVE looks differnt, I totally dissagree with you though man.. NBA LIVE hasnt had a good game in teh series since 99.

Wow I LOVED The Demo! The problem with NBA is your really stuck between a rock and a hard place. NBA Live is a biiiit to fast, and 2k is a biiiit to slow. For me anwyays, madden is enough to satisfy me, NHL EA Series is enough to satisfy me ,but often I feel the need to have BOTH NBA Games so if I am feeling like that slow, strategic game, I have 2k and if I feel liek some real fast pased action, I like to play Live.

Overall, I may be getting both this season! Very impressed.

The crowd animations are pretty distracting. I find myself watching members of the crowd wandering from row to row without finding their seats. Hey EA, lets get some Ushers in NBA Live 2010 - poor people can't sit and enjoy a game!
