well i had nba street vol 3. and you would create a baller online like you would in the single player campaign and you build up his stats by winning games online. the other 2 players you get on your team is complete random. this one i think is the same, i remember reading the review for it. its really fun online.
You select any NBA team you like, or the NBA Allstar team and use that team online against whoever your opponent chooses. The first game I played online was weird, because I didn't have full control of my players, i could shoot and pass, but i couldn't control where they moved. The games I have played since the controls have been fine though, I'm not sure what the deal was then.
