So does that mean that Columbia crashes into the sea and becomes Rapture? Wait, 50 years? So it takes place in 1910? Man could barely fly, but they have a whole city in the sky?To take place 50 years before bioshock 1

Your theory of coumbia crashing is very good though all i know is i am super hyped about this game and it is the original developer working on it I CANT WAIT seriously no game is going to feel as good leading up to this game for me now. :D

No way it becomes rapture. The story of Bioshock 1 is way too deep for Columbia to become Rapture. It's a videogame...it's going to bend history a bit to fit the story. Looks awesome. Friend pointed out the roses relating to the Rosie Bouncer from Bioshock. He also thinks the girl the agent is looking for will become the prototype little sister. Could definitely be true

It happens 50 years later dude as if nothing changes in 50 years under the sea? They had little sister trials and an experimental drug called plasmids that turned everyone insane. A LOT can happen in 50 years...
the girls name is elizabeth read the article i posted if she is the prototype little sister it wouldnt be in this game because it didnt happen over night in rapture so 50 years before the first game having a little sister wouldn't happen.
One thing i thought about is this will be a bioshock game WITHOUT plasimids think of that for a second. Also the bot thing in the trailer had a heart in it? This will be a bioshock game in a sense but it will be totally different from the first 2.
Looking at the trailer again it had the 1893 chicago world fair toy thing in the fish tank. With a big daddy figure in it, I am thinking someone showed off the prototype BIG DADDY at this fair and that is what we saw attacking this guy in the trailer 7 years or so later. Also this big daddy prototype is grabbing her so perhaps you are correct and maybe the will bind these two at some point and they will become the first of thier kind.

Uh huh 50 years is a long time....But the detailed story of Bioshock 1 would lead me to believe Columbia will not crash into the ocean. Andrew Ryan created rapture and there are far too many small details to list.
I didn't say the girls name was Rosie either. I was referring to the Rosie Bouncer. Simply pointing out 2 potential story elements that can be linked to the original Bioshock.

I never said that you said her name was rosie :D. You said he thinks the GIRL is the agent.... I was just simply telling you her name and giving a article with more details.
Before you guys get into long winded rants about how Columbia could never become Rapture and start spouting the history of Andrew Ryan, I didn't honestly think that it would be the actual plot. It was just a bit of sarcasm that seemed to be a semi-logical origin of Rapture that I threw out there just for the hell of it, seeing that this game supposedly takes place 50 years before Bioshock 1.DJ_Magneto
It could possibly happen though is the thing i am not saying it will. This is purely all speculation on a trailer but your post got me thinking for sure.
How about this:

Not really, Bioshock is a game that I feel did not go well with a sequel.

Same here.
Plus the point about Rupture was for it to be hidden from everyone, therefore it was built under the sea.
What's with the flying city??

their is also an interview with the creator
It will have things that you remember about rapture in the game kind of like how final fantasy has a new story every time but has rememberable people and items such as summons, chocobos, airships etc...

Just like how they changed reality in bioshock 1 and 2
they are changing the 1900s where america created a floating city called columbia
columbia flexes its muscles and blow stuff up
then floats into the sky
the city is lost but you must go and find elizabeth somewhere on this floating city where views of society are scewed just like they were in bioshock 1 and 2

This game looks better than Bioshock 2, but nowhere near as great as Bioshock. Mythomniac
So your saying a 2 minute trailer is better than all of bioshock 2? They didnt even show ANY gameplay at all.

Well BS2 sucked, well it didn't suck, it just wasn't very interesting compared to the original and I figured from that, you can only improve.[QUOTE="ZzZEVOLUTIONZzZ"][QUOTE="Mythomniac"]This game looks better than Bioshock 2, but nowhere near as great as Bioshock. Mythomniac

I am starting to think the only reason people bash bioshock 2 is because "it is the cool thing to do". You had big daddies, little sisters, big sisters, a villian you could learn to hate, plasmids, turrets, splicers new and old, cameras. Everything was there that made bioshock 1 great. Saying that it sucked is just silly, if you dont like the second one you never liked the first one to begin with or you just never played either game. It may have fallen short compared to the original but it was a trully great game that i would rather play then some of these other releases that no one remembers on the xbox 360.

Are you trying to imply I never played either games? I hate on it because the first one had an amazing story with great gameplay, the second one had the same great gameplay, but nothing new, sure, it had new weapons, but it was still the same thing. Also, the story in BS2 wasn't the greatest thing ever, the main villain who made been "a huge threat to Ryan" was not even mentioned in the first one. That is why I don't like it, it is a good game, but not fantastic, that is why I think this game will be better than BS2.Hmm, since this was announced so soon, I bet it will b crap. The story will most like be half assed.orb_03_2006That's jumping the gun. Maybe you could say that if it was released this year, but it won't be out until 2012. Bioshock 2 was just released this past February, so it's not like they were really developing both games at the same time.

2k Marin did Bioshock 2. So that means Irrational Games could have been working on Infinite since 07-08 for all we know. I have a lot of faith in them. And since its another year and a half to two years away, it won't disappoint.
lol Me, too. I have yet to play it. It's only around $20 on amazon, so I'll try and buy it soon.I'm very excited. Now to play the second...

Bioshock 1 - Epic Cast of characters Frank Fontaine For the Win , andrew Ryan Great character too the scene with the Golf Club Pure gold
Bioshock 2 -Ok still great Gameplay mechanics , but story was Lacking Big time Sofia Lamb Was not as menacing as Frank FontaineBig sisters Were a Good addition . (bioshock 2 was Good It just lacked what the First had )
Bioshock Infinite- Looks Great Trailer was Cool and i think this game could Bring back some excitement I Mean We all have been to Rapture and we revisited it Now we have awhole New city Where it Came From i dont Know there was no mention of this in previous Games but looks to add that Element of Wonder and excitement cant wait for this game .
I think that the whole city of Columbia is just an idea. It isnt entirely real. Itjust symbolizes the USA.
