I don't care about story or this or that. This game is so hard to put down.

Agreed. Diffeculty should not be a reason to underrate this game, it depends on the player how good he is.
but u should complete the game b4 saying how good it is...IMO.
gamespot gives this game an 8? because of inconsitant level of difficulties? the bosses are completely badass and they should be. this game is ridiculously good. i've played gears, cod4, halo, orange box etc, etc and this game is better than all of them. there i said it. I really like gtaiv as well. mass effect was good but very glitchy. ng2 and gtaiv are the 2 best games i've played for the 360. never played bioshock or ass creed. havent played dmc4. On fun factor alone i give this game a 12.5.Walker34
I agree about the difficulty. I think games should never be given a negative just because of difficulty. UNLESS it was completely unfair (like bad level design or something).
All I'm saying this game would be a 10 if the story made sense and they upgraded some very minor details. As far as an action arcade title it is top notch. This is something that has been l ost on a lot of developers is fun factor and addictive gameplay.
Yeah there are minor details. The camera can be a bit weird at times but it's very minor once you get used to it. I actually think they did a good job with it. The player models are great. The environments aren't but they are solid. The story is just cheesy and it doesnt really bother me although it would be nice if it had a good story to go along with it. The boss battles are challenging and not impossible. Each boss has a way to beat it once you get the hang of how to do it. It's a hard game and it should be and the fun factor makes it worth taking the time trying to beat these guys. It just means you have to get better and it works with the progression of the game. I love the difficulty so far. EAch boss hasn't taken that long to beat. It's just a challenge and they are epic battles like they should be. The positives far outweigh any negative. This game has an incredible amount of depth to the gameplay. It's extremely brutal and fun. Tons of weapons and upgrades, and combos.
I just dont understand why a game like halo or whatever gets a 9.5 when those games have just as many flaws and arent as fun? Mass effect was a bug filled game and got a higher score. This game is very polished for the most part. It just could have been improved in certain areas. Yeah it's a shame they didn't improve these things before release because it would be a 10 and a masterpiece. I really can't see givign this game any lower than an 8.7 and some games that got that score this is a much better game. IGN's review of this game was much more spot on.

I agree with you all the way! This game is freaking awesome!:D
I love this game, but I don't think it's underrated. 8.0 is a "GREAT" rating. Seriously.
8.0 means that the game has a few flaws, but that those flaws can be looked past or become accustomed to.
The best action game of the year, no doubt. the gamespot review is just BS, and its from the guy who gave assassins creed a 9......what a jokesome_dude123
The same guy reviewed AC and NG2? That's crazy. AC is nothing compared to NG2. Yes, AC is one of the best looking games out so far this gen but it takes more to make a good game. AC was a major disappointment. If AC is a 9 then NG2 is easily a 10.......or 11! Seriously though, this is a perfect example of why you shouldn't base your purchase decisions on review scores alone.

Agreed! In reality a review is only another person's opinion of the game anyway. Best to judge for yourself! 8) I've seen alot of games that sites give bad reviews. Yet I liked them after playing them.
I have to agree and also beside underrated I think it is underhype too. Nobody in my friends list is playing NG2 the day it was release except for me sadly... klusps
Same here, but then again, nobody had Grid either.
I think NG2 is underrated, it deserved a 9.0 at least. The weapons and combat are enough to justify at least 2 playthroughs.
NG2 does have some terriblly designed levels, most of them include WATER. Ninjas and water DO NOT MIX!!!
.
As a NINJA GAIDEN fan I'd have to agree.
I've only played the first 2 levels and the combat is great, but the levels suck. The levels are truly empty and are just there to guide you to the next battle. I wish there was more of an overworld that was in the first. the combat is great though.
the technical flaws, from what I've played, are annoying. The game froze on me loading up the 2nd level; the slowdown is kind of annoying as well.
The camera is no different from the one in the first.
I can't wait to get the full game[I played the first 2 levels at my friends house].
i know. this game is so hard but thats the reason why i love it. there is no game that made me push my gaming skills this far.
Ninga Gaiden 2 = 9.5/10 imo
lol wut?ImSwordMan
reviewers assume if you are not using every tool available to entertain the user then the game is defunct. that is their indadequacy. they miss game's like this that creates compelling entertainment primarily with the action.
You are so right the game is very addicting.

Get out of here. The water capital chapter five was one of the coolets levels.
I have yet to see a bad review for NG2...... I don't understand how its underrated. SuperBeast
it lacks bad reviews however some severely understate how good it really is *cough* eurogamer *cough*
like assassins creed NG2 was unfinshed.
i really dont know why they rushed the game.
i m really enjoying the game only the camera sucks and noo missions mode :S
ALTAIR360
I completely dissagree, NG2 is a very finished game with a great camera angle and some super hard difficulty in the game, not to mention some of hte best gamplay ever. This is all my personal opinion.
For me NG2 is up there with MGS4 and Age Of Conan on PC, as my personal games of the year so far this year.
i played the demo and it was horrible...it was too easy...its just a bunch of button mashing, slicing and dicing lol...it seems like it would be easy achievement points if i were to get it lolThe_GR8_H
Man how wrong u r that demo u could only play the easy mode on the harder difficulty and in the latter levels the game gets brutal sometimes

I dare you to get the game and try beating it ont he hardest difficulty... i guarentee you cant do that, this is hands down the toughest videogame ever made (when played on teh hardest difficulty and not the easy mode).
after playing the demo i was hoping to myself that I had just played through the easiest level of difficulty because like i said it was waaaay to easy...sorry if i got ur panties in a bunch for the two guys that posted after me...im still not gonna buy the game though cuz i think it would be too repetative...run around, see some enemies, slice and dice (via button mashing), repeat as neccassary lmao

You've got absolutely no idea, do you?
Go play Ninja Gaiden. Then go play Ninja Gaiden 2. Maybe if you have any sense at all you'll understand why they gave it an eight.
*****Ninja Gaiden is percieved as an adventure game, one of the main elements of an adventure game is the story*****
licker_91
If your saying NG had a great story then you need to wake up. NG's story and of course the camera was the only negatives in the game. Yet it still gets a 9.4. NG2 has the same problems and yet it gets an 8. The combat has evolved, it looks better graphically, and runs at a smooth 60 fps for the most part of the game. NG is perceived as an action game not an adventure game. If you want an adventure game go play zelda.
edit: IMO Kevin Van Ord doesn't know a great game when he see's it. He gives Assassins Creed a 9 and NG2 an 8. AC is by far the most repetitive game I've ever played.
Like many other posters, I'm scratching my head about this. How does Assassin's Creed get a 9.0 and Ninja Gaiden 2 only get 8.0?
If you point flaws in Ninja Gaiden's storyline, I would say that Assassin's Creed storyline was just as confusing and unclear.
Lets not even discuss the combat system between these two games. Ninja Gaiden 2's combat system blows Assassin's Creed combat out of the water. It's not even a contest. Combat was obviously better in Ninja Gaiden 2: more weapons, unique spells, and awesome finishing moves. Also, Ryu could run on water; where as Altair would drown. I have played and beaten both AC and NG2; so I can fairly compare the differences between the combat systems.
NG2 was definitely underrated. I understand it had flaws, but come on. It's much better than 8.0.
