its got an 8.3 average out of 10 reviews. while its not bad, its definitely not really impressive. and of the reviews i've read, it seems like the camera is just as bad if not worse than before. i have to say im a bit disappointed and don't think i'll be buying this game. i'll definitely rent it, but i'm playin through the first one right now and the camera has caused me more frustration than anything else and to see that they havent fixed that is pretty bad. your thoughts?
Alot of the reviews where done on a NON-Retail version of the game.
ALSO..... the two main reasons for low scores have been 1.The game is two hard and 2. The so called camera angle is bad just like the first Ninja Gaiden game.
I personally LOVE the tough challenge that Ninja Gaiden brings, and as far as the bad camera i NEVER noticed it in teh first NG, actuall yi loved the camera angle.
SO if those are the two big so called problems that NG2 has then i could care less.
yeah the camera in the first game is not perfect, but i mean come on, its not really a problem? I mean i played the game just fine, there were some issues with some platforming sections, but overall the camera isnt really a problem. ANd the combat in Ninja gaiden is unparralleled by any other similar game like devil may cry or god of war. its simply the best action game of its kind.
I think they are looking at NG2 to revolutionize a lot. It doesn't sound like it does, and that is probably disappointing a lot of the reviewers. It looks pretty fun though.
I really didnt have a problem in Ninja Gaiden Black so i think they are over-reacting over the camera. None the less im still buying the game because ive been a fan since the first Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox.
the reviews never said the camera was an issue throughout the game. It sounds like some of the reviews took points away from the game because it was frustrating at some points and the mediocre storyline. I dont rally care about the story. every game ha its bugs. Halo3 has way more bugs than what Ive heard about NG2.
the thing i hate about some of the "negatives" these sites keep giving to ng2 is that they keep saying that if your a hardcore then youll love it. but if your a casual then you wont like getting your butt kicked, so it wont appeal to them and they shouldnt get it or wont like it. doesnt this apply to MOST GAMES, and thsi games has liek 4 difficulty levels. these guys have got to be a joke of the review industsry. thats like saying that a lamborghini is an awesome car if you can afford it but if you cant, then you wont like it and prolly shouldnt get it. stop bashing the game because of the difficulty, if its a great game then ITS A GREAT GAME!!!
one thing the critics never mention is how fun a game is. thats the most important thing. not the graphics, camera, story, its how enjoyable a game is. ng2 looks like one of those games thats just plain fun.
the reviewers are playing NG2 at the hard modes but dont do that to the other games they review. there are 4 modes in NG2 yet they all say there are frustrating moments while playing the hard setting...duh
Whatever...first of all, an average review of 8.3 is actually very good. Reviewers don't just throw 8s around like they are going out of style. A game has to be pretty damn good to warrant an 8 or higher. Second of all, I personally could care less if this game got rated a 2 out of 10...as far as I can tell it is everything I expected.
The main gripes are with the camera and the story. I don't care what anyone says; the camera in the last Ninja Gaiden was fine. All you have to do to center it behind Ryu is hit the right trigger. Maybe for the lazy game reviewers that is asking too much. And the story? OK, if you play action games for the story, you need help. OMG! A game that actually values gameplay over story?!? Personally, I could care less if Ryu is on a quest to find the world's last remaining Pop Tart. As long as I get to brutally f*** up anything that stands in my way, I will be happy.
Pre-ordered and paid in full. Ninja Gaiden 2 looks rather impressive, sporting better graphics than Ninja Gaiden Sigma and cool weapons. Dual wielding? That's pretty awesome. It's an action game. Dont expect too much from an action game. It's for you to beat down your enemies to a bloody pulp. It's going to be kick ass.
