As expected from xbox user's, I was a Ps2 owner before xbox 360 so of course i think DMC is better BUT manily different from ninja gaiden. But yes, Dante could own that big-budget cyper ninja? lol any day and not even go devil trigger. team ninja gots .......well......ninja gaiden. Capcom has............not enough space here.(I beat ninja gaiden or black or whatever remake of the same thing on the xbox, its most def. different then DMC, not better.)Anyways fanboy stuff aside, I'll be gladly buying DMC 4 for its insane difficulty and great story, renting NG2...if they cut rental costs?
ninja gaiden pwns dmc any day, the combat in dmc is so repetitive, its just so boring.....Ironre5
it's funny you say that cause I could pop in NG for my ps3, play it and low & behold it's just as repetative it's different characters doing the same thing. Cutting enemies down with a SET variaty of moves. NG isnt any less repetative than DMC. As for me I'm getting DMC just cause all three of the previous stories were better to me than NG's.
Devil May Cry, I played through Ninja Gaiden a few times and truthfully I don't see what the fuss is about. The controls felt clunky especially the way magic was implemented was useless, the combat just was not as fast paced as DMC and did not flow as well. Every fight in Ninja Gaiden was a fight for your life and I never really got the feeling I was a badass Ninja. The platforming elements just felt wrong and they just added to the clunkiness of the controls. And I don't mind difficult games, but I still like it when a game allows you to ease in slowly with an easier difficulty except Ninja Gaiden on starts at Normal and works it's way up and it's Normal is harder than a lot of games Hardest difficulities. There is point where all these fights for your life, dying, backtracking from an antiquanted save point system, then just dying again becomes a chore.
I beat it 3 times, did everything got all the scarabs and what not so I can really say for at least the original version I did everything there was to do and I still came out thinking that this game just does not live up to the hype it gets. And I am not going into my rant about graphics, art design, and storytelling because those are the biggest factors in my dislike for the game but I won't this time. I really doubt I'll even buy NG2 even though people will be praising it to no ends.

.....x, x, block, x, x, jump, izuna drop, x, x, x, x, block, jump, block, x, x, x, jump, izuna drop, hold Y to gather orbs for a combo, x, x, shuriken, x, ......
You got us, Ninja Gaiden definitely is NOT repetitive.
I will be picking up both for sure. I loved the first NG for Xbox. Story wise I have to agree that NG probably dosen't add up in that department compared to the DMC series. But game play...NG kicks butt. The devil may cry series has had 3 other sequels which of course gives it the oppurtunity to develpe it's story line. Where as NG hasen't. Hopfully we'll see that with NG2.
Anyhow, I'll be getting NG2 first day it's out. Probably wait till the price drops a little on DMC4. Both great games tho.
both, day 1. i preordered NG2 back in november, and it is probably more than any other game what i looked forward to when i bought a 360.
DMC4 was the one game i was kind of bummed that i wouldn't get to play on 360... so you can imagine my joy when it was announced it was coming to the 360.

By no means am i trying to be sarcastic, as a fellow DMC fan i am simply thanking you for typing what i was too lazy to type. i also found NG to be....dull, and the story (if their was one) sucked so damn bad lolAs expected from xbox user's, I was a Ps2 owner before xbox 360 so of course i think DMC is better BUT manily different from ninja gaiden. What does owning a PS2 have to do with liking one game more than the other?
I'll likely be getting both. I liked Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden Black and DMC 1 and DMC 3 (never played two). On their normal settings I found DMC 3 and Ninja Gaiden to be easy once I got used to them, I don't play many fighting games so they gave me trouble at first.
I don't know what I will like more but Ninja Gaiden is likely to be the better game.
what dmc4 harder then ninja gaiden????? Wow your lost in this one my friend, may i say for you to get an xbox or a ps3 anyways may you have a pleasant day since dmc was harder then ninja gaiden wow lost kidsmontynana
Did anyone understand that?

hi guys, ive always found DMC 1 and 2 to be good, but 3 to be the same boring stuff....the demo for dmc4 was boring, i really loved the first ninja gaiden and am definitly getting the second one...i wanted to know who here is going to get ninja gaiden 2 over dmc4...and whos gonna get both....Ironre5
Who the hell prefers DMC2 over 3? That is the first time I've ever seen someone say that. In fact, who the hell prefers DMC2 period?
And you'll get no argument from me that the demo for DMC4 was some boring ****, but don't make the mistake of writing that game off over that demo, it'd be a shame if you did.
Just out of thought.. why do people keep on posting these VS forums... they are like completely pointless... not to be rude or anything, but seriously don't they have anything esle or better to do, I mean really what is the point.. considering that they are completely different games.. just like when people were comparing Halo and Gears of war.. I mean c'mon Devils comparing ninjaz.. but in my opinion.. for difficulty I would say Devil May Cry 4, but otherwise Ninja Gaiden.. I would most likely get one, and then get the other one later, but these are both games, that after you completed them, there really is not much else to do, so I would just rent one, complete it, then rent the other and complete that oneTrogeton
Meh, at least its a better versus argument than Halo 3 vs CoD4, there is more grounds for comparison here.
I would easily even say that the original Ninja Gaiden is still better then DMC4.hirosho
The original was better than most any other action game, the graphics at the time were gorgeous also. I love the challenge NG gives me. Thers's tons of replay value especially trying it on Master Ninja. I can't wait for NG2!!!!

The graphics were amazing for the time but I felt they were bland even then. Whats the fun of replaying NG when you don't get to keep anything to your next playthrough and continue upgrading. By your standard it seems restarting a game from the beginning from scratch gives it replay value that means every game has tons of replay value. Just to play through DMC3 and do everything there is to do and unlock both everything for Dante and Vergil would probably go upwards of 80 hours.
Graphics are still hot, AI shi ts all over DMC4, you can block, theres more moves. Its better. Ninja Gaiden Black/Sigma > DMC4
And I DMC, but you fanboys are pathetic
hirosho
You can block in DMC. Did you not play DMC3? And the 4th game isn't even out yet, so you comparing NG with the 4th DMC is retarded...

i sense some sarcasm there..anyways, whatr i meant to say was gameplay in dmc FEELS repetitive, BUT gameplay in ninja gaiden doesnt, even though it shud feel repetitive, it doesnt, that game is that great...

im not writing off the game, i just feel like itll be a rental for me...i wud buy it but im on a budget, so i only buy must have games....
there are way too many things I wantto say but ILL try to make it short
NG : I played the first game.....IT WAS FREAK"N AWSOME .....
the GOOD thing about this game is that it was intense full of action and it had such a high replay value that I played it all the way to the end 5 timse....YES the story was BORING.......YES controlls were hand twisters....AND YES it was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY TOOOOOOOOO HARD......BUT IN THE END IS ONE OF THE XBOX's MAIN REASONs OF SUCCSES
BUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTTT
DMC : if NG was " FREAK'n AWSOME " then DMC HAS ALWAYES BEEN ULTRA MEGA SUPER FREAK"N AWSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME .......I UNLIKE NG DIDNT STOP PLAYING DMC 3 ,1 TILL THIS VERY
DAY , THE GAME HAS NO END ...SUPER good story ....Ultra cool gampley and...FREK'n high replay value the story of dante will let you play this game over and over to see those unbelievble moments such as dante fighting his own twin brother virgil to death or the final stand againts mundus or even the fight between dante and the demons in his own office at the beging of DMC3 DMC 4 didnt show the good thing about the game just like the BURN OUT PARADICE made it look like an unworthy of CENT GAME , but believe ME DEVIL MAY CRY AND DANTE WILL ROOOOOOOOOOOOCCCCCCCK
( BOY THAT FELT GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD )
The first devil may cry was really original and i liked it a ton. The second one was great too. then there's the third one but thats not important :D I was really excited for Devil May Cry 4 though. I played the demo and I really wasnt that impressed with it. at first I thought the graphics could use some work though. But after seeing the boss I was pretty satisfied. the detail on the boss was beautiful. But when I was playing through the demo I just didnt ever get any of those "WOW" moments. it just didnt really impress that much. I'll wait for a review before i decide though.
I'm gonna have to go with Ninja Gaiden. Their artistic style is just (IMO) so damn cool. I loved the first one on Xbox, and besides, I'm a sucker for gore! :D

same DMC way better i mean just the storyline for DMC blows away Ninja Gaiden not counting kick butt dante i love his snappy sarcasm

Don't get me wrong ninja gaiden is good and I plan on getting the second one as well as dmc4, however dmc4 comes out on top when it comes to more diversity of action. NG is about survival and DMC is about style, and no game can currently top its combat depth. Any way here is just a small sample of combo vids from dmc3 and you can expect better from 4.
