I still have my box for the time I got RRoD, so I'll just use that one.

i got rrod last october and they didn't send me a box, so it's nothing new. Most post offices give free boxes, so its all good.

Good thing I still have the box from the first time my first 360 RROD on me. Hopefully my new one (which has the jasper) won't die anytime soon.

It's only the box, they still provide you with a shipping label. I mean, yea it kind of sucks, but you could probably find a box around your house and stuff it with a bunch of newspaper.

yep. shipping label, shipping, etc is all free.
you just need to find a box and packing.
i'm sure they probably got tired of hearing them referred to as "coffins"...

just got mine back (under the new E74 error warranty) ALOT faster than expected. maybe 1-2 weeks.

lol, when mine rrod'd i put it in a box that was like 3x it's size, with no packaging or anything, everytime you moved the box you'd hear the xbox move with it. I figured the more broken it is the better chance of getting a new one. They sent it back in a box that fit it perfectly with packaging an everything.

This isn't really a problem - find a box big enough to hold your 360, pack it out well with whatever comes to hand whether its bubble wrap or screwed up newspaper to stop it moving, and MS sort out the rest. They send the shipping label and contact, in our case UPS, to arrange a time to collect it. When they return it they pack it properly in one of the "coffins" not the box you send it back in. Just keep that stored away in case you need to send it back again, and that way you have a suitable box with the foam insets to hold it securely. Not sure where that site is getting its info - my 360 broke back in March and I had to sort a box out - that article suggests this is something new they are just starting doing

this isnt new, just the reports are new, i sent mine back in september 2008 and they gave no box. to be honest if u get ur own box and put the labels etc on then you can save yourself quite a few days to gettint ur xbox back rather than waiting for a box to come out then arranging for it to be picked up, this cuts it down quite a bit. and no suprise fixing times are down to just 2 weeks since they started doing it. as if people cant find a box to send back. saying its bull is stupid, this not only saves money and waste on the environment for the card and fuel used to send a box, which my friends box was delivered from germany to uk. now thats a waste of money. sending it off in a box urself wudnt of been a big deal previousily, why now when they stop sending them,. wouldnt you rather get your xbox back a week earlier. at the least its saving several days off the return time
