Well i just finished ODST yesterday and imho i was quite dissapointed. i found that the night time bits were incredably boring with the fact i had to walk everywhere and it got quite annoying

another thing that was annoying was that no doors seemed to be open my marker would be on the other side of a building and heres a door but for some strange reason its locked so you have to go ALL the way around and i found that annoying and in some parts quite lazy of the developers.

this is just my opinion the day time bits are mad and when your looking over the water and in the background everything was on fire took my breath away and the campagin was the most i guess ''human'' i just found some bits quite annoying

so my question to you is did you like it and if you were a developer at bungie and you could change a few things what would you change?

the actual combat was good but yeah, Mombasa Streets were freaking annoying. The crappy icon that you had to follow to get to the next area was simply crappy just have an indicator to point you in the right direction, like a big arrow on the ground. Not that stupid head thing that was just placed between each big divider door. I must have been lost for at least an hour.

Halo 3 was better. I work at gamestop and we had someone trade it back in 3 hours after buying it lol. Its known as One Dumb Stupid Title from the people I know that played it.

I thought it was really fun (while it lasted) and the overworld "Rookie" parts were really eerie and proved to be an engaging way to tell the poorly acted storey.

I actually found ODST a great game (While it lasted), but after beating it on Legendary and people Lagging out when we do the "Endure" Achievement, Im not playing it as much so the Replay Value is kinda losing it, then again, I enjoy the game while it lasted.

I liked it. The only complaint would be about the increased speed of the Brute shot, fuel rod, etc. Died way too much off of that stuff.

I bought the game for firefight and for the maps. I expected the singleplayer to be garbage and it was. There were so many times where i just skipped the cutscenes cause the acting and story was just so horrible. The game was so corny too, a love story in the game like really? You see the teaser for the game all bad*** with death and destruction and of course bungie does a good job of completely ruining any badassness the game could of had.

Yeah, I liked it. Some lost potential with the hub world and the lack of match making is lame but it;s still a fun game.

The combat wasnt bad, especially vehicle sections.

Heres what I didnt like:

-Overly red HUD after not much damage

-Waypoint system

-Moombosa was an overly dark place

-which also lead to using the illuminating thing which i hated using, wouldve preferred a flashlight.

-Would have liked more teamwork or being able to play co op

-Since you can pick anyway point at random the story is confusing and messy and flashbacks make no sense.

-since its only 4 hours long you have no feelings for the main characters.

I finished it on heroic in 4 hours and I took it back to EB next day and traded in on this special thing. I actually preordered it from Gametraders for $77 and got $89 from trade in at EB which I put on my PS3 slim layby and got off :P (Had a 60gb BC but had ps2 so I sold it for profit since its rare)

I loved it. For the first 2 weeks. Now Im not playing it what so ever. Firefight was only fun when going for the acheivements. Now it feels like playing Firefight without getting anything . Feels like a whaste of time. Idk, thats just me. Horde on the other hand, I still play it, and its still fun. Oh well.

I thought it was decent. Its tough to make a game in the Halo series because of what ODST is being measured against. I'm sure if ODST came out before Halo combat evolved then the reception would be a ton better.

I really enjoyed the campaign. My favorite portions were the Streets of New Mombasa and the Rookie. You had to be a bit more methodical with your encounters and conserve ammo until you were close to a cache. Especially on Legendary where a couple of brutes could easily kick your ass if you aren't careful. And once you find a mongoose it was fun to zip around the city. But the main reason I liked the game was because of the story and how it fit into the bigger picture of the Halo Universe. I just thought it was good Sci-Fi. That's how I feel about all the Halo games.

The desolate streets in the game was to give you a sense of how bad the covenant demolished the humans and turned the city into a ghost town. The effect was to make you feel like you are the only soldier that can save the city. sounds like some people just wanted a typical all action game. guess everyone cant be satisfied with anything Bungie makes.

I agree with you completely. It kind of reminded me of Black Hawk Down where you had those couple of stranded soldiers running through the empty streets alone and outnumbered trying to link up with everyone else. I guess a lot of people just lost that whole point.

I agree. I thought the night streets were the best part. Sure, you ran into something every now and then, but it really had an amazing atmosphere about it that I don't think any of the other Halos has really captured. As far as Firefight goes, I love it as well...I don't have too many friends with ODST (mostly guys from work), but I have enough to usually have a full Firefight when we all want to.

I actually really enjoyed ODST a lot. I loved the fact that the story is a retelling of Dante's Inferno. I loved Mombasa Streets and it's unique vibe. This is such an atmospheric game! Firefight is fun too. Each session can go on for as long as you're alive. The skulls make a nice dynamic change of pace. I love this game. I think Halo 3 is better than ODST and I don't quite see ODST as one of the greatest games ever made or anything. But it is a superb shooter and I enjoyed every minute of it.

First playthrough of the campaign took me 8 and a half hours. My second playthrough was so I could find all of the audio logs I had missed (I found them in the first one by accident I wasn't necessarily searching for them) and that took about another 8 hours. Add in Firefight and I've gotten my $60 worth of shooter goodness. It's a very well-made game and has a totally different vibe throughout it than the other Halo games. It's more methodical, lonely and mysterious whereas Halo 2 and 3 were just all non-stop action (which is really good too! :D).

thank you. thats exactly what it felt like. loved that movie. bungie meant for the game to play solo but incorporated co-op because thats been a key ingredient in the series that people loved. playing co-op takes that solo lonely feeling away for me.

there have been a history of short single player games for years with no multiplayer, no DLC, no co-op and no replayability. ODST offers a little more than just a short campaign.
