so far i only see 11 votes in favor of the old republic, but 116 in favor of knights of the old republic 3 :D ! so why is it again that bioware and lucasarts dicided to can kotor and waste their time with tor?

(edit) one of the reasons i say this is because when i look at the gameplay footage and graphics, i cant help but think how much better it could be on nex gen consoles, alot of people on the tor forums (well more like all of them) claim that consoles are outright crud, and their computers that cost literally thousands of dollars to build are more popular and better than consoles in every way, but seriously, ive seen the "top" pc only games out there and the graphics are horrible, nex gen consoles are capable of giving games absolutely beautiful graphics, and like ive said before consoles are hassle free (rrod isnt a problem for everyone and it shouldnt reflect the xbox 360 or consoles in general, i had it once and got it fixed and have had no issues since) and yet these people seriously think consoles arent popular and pc's are the big thing, someone on there told me that pc gaming makes up 55% of the gaming market, and that its all thanks to mmo's, wow mmo's, thats a good reason to spend all my cash on a pc lol.

i just found out that tor isnt going to come out for literally years! we better not have to wait for them to finish it before they even consider kotor 3, god i wish obsidian would make it....

Just got the message hugami, no worries keeping it alive.

Honestly is that the release date!!???? are they taking the complete ****!? not only have they waited all this time just to unveil an MMO but it ain't even coming out till next year TBC!!!

Seriously they could have made KOTOR 3 and a sequel by now if they weren't messing about with this MMO.

I fully stand by my statement that Bioware has sold out, and should've made KOTOR 3 instead. It would have been easy money! instant cross platform hit!!! everyone would've been drooling over KOTOR 3 from now until 2011 if it didn't release till then. but now, we're stuck with this blasphemy! i'm sorry. i've tried a plethora of MMO's WoW, LOTR online, Star Wars Galaxies, Guild Wars. And they're just weren't any good at all. I need a good story. Something that draws me in, and KOTOR I & II did that. even know, i play KOTOR I and enjoy it so much. love it. to death.

i was just thinking.....imagine if kotor 3 was a completely free roaming rpg, i dont know about everyone else, but one of the few thngs im always bummed about in kotor and kotor tsl is the fact that the environments are all so small and feel more like levels than rpg environments, im talking about having a really big environment like elder scrolls big! but im thinking having each world with elder scrolls big environments! i only played morrowind but to me it was the biggest environment ive ever played in, to me gta san andreas is big, but still not as big as ES environments, anyone else agree on this?

well let me start by saying the ktor comic book series has helped make it possible for an mmo but i am not a fan of mmos i played galaxies and after they had this major combat upgrade it was never the same. so i stopped playing. it wasnt worth the money anyways

Free roaming yep I would lke that on KOTOR3 as well, and this is again one of the reasons the game seriously needs to get made for the X360 or PS3. I wonder what enviroments they would do on the next KOTOR3, I also wonder what new weapons and armour they could do.

I found Kotor2 quite boring and incomplete, lack of side missions and small maps.......and knowing obsidian is losing the job on ALIENS:crucible things are not looking good for them.

yeah i wanna see korriban again, dxun, coruscant, mandalore, tons of huge free roaming environments could fit in the game on the xbox 360. and yeah i'd definitely wanna see armour/hoodedrobe and tunic/armor combinations, lots of appearance customizations would be great.

i dunno i liked kotor 2, but thanks to lucasarts loads of content was cut, it wasnt obsidian's fault. but i definitely agree on small maps, in both kotors they are ridiculously small. i think kotor 3 could be obsidian's big break maybe, id wanna see them do it for sure.

wasnt kotor 2 the first game obsidian did? its funny when i first played kotor 2 and saw obsidian in the beginning i thought it had something to do with obsidian the game lol, have you ever played it? its so trippy.

yeah true, but im still not gonna play it, i dont like mmos one bit, im not gonna blow money each month for a game, i like my 360, i hate the 3-D cartoon characters, the plot sounds real whack and cliche, and i dont want other people ruining my game experience by doing random crap, and its an rpg but since its an mmo i will be a pointless character and wont be able to truly make a difference in the game like i can do in a real rpg. so yeah the prospect of big environments andmany planets in tor sounds great, but thats all i like about it for me personally. still gonna waitit out for the true kotor 3.

i definitely want canderous in it if there is a kotor 3, hk-47 is cool but i never used him cuz hes a droid i dunno. i saw a short bit of tor footy (it was from a dev vid) on youtube and it showed a bounty hnter looking guy using a jet pack and the combat looked way better than the old kotor games, but it could be 100 times better on the 360, when i think about it now, the graphics totally do suck in tor. i just want kotor 3 soooooooooooo bad, any decent star wars game on the 360 would be nice, not lego crap and not the force unleashed i returned it 2 weeks later.

ive heard that battlefront 3 was completely scrapped after the people developing it (i think it was a company called free radical based in the UK) went out of business, and pandemic said they werent making it, but on youtube someone said it was being developed still and theres a release date blah blah blah. but i wanna see some concrete proof beore i get my hopes up. bet even if battlefront 3 does come out, it wont have that tight looking ground to space feature (an employee from the free radical company said "that feature is dying with the company", ******** :evil: ), and honestly, im sick of games based on the movies, i like kotor era and old republic era stuff, its more interesting and isnt repetitive you know, i wanna see a battlefront style game set in the sith wars, the great hyperspace war, the mandalorian wars, it would be awesome, imagine playing as the mandos on malacore completely slaughtering republic soldiers! ahhh boy i do day dream alot dont i :P .

I think we gamers should come together and pitch a good story for KOTOR 3 and see if we can do anything with it. Forget copyrights, the gaming community deserves KOTOR 3!!!!!!!

Anyways, I have tried Warcraft, Runescape, etc. and I have hated them all. I'm not really looking forward to TOR, but I can assure you I will be trying it out. I need a KOTOR fix and this is the closest thing I'm gonna get. I really don't think it looks all that bad and if they can impliment half of the ideas they've been ranting about, it should be able to revolutionize MMOs

yeah, i hate playing games on my computer except spider solitare lol. i dont have time for mmos, i like playing my game, saving it, and coming back later, plus in an mmo i would get killed by stupid players who spend all their time on it leveling up lol. i like having a true purpose in an rpg game, i dont mind other games being mmos, but with an rpg especially kotor i like being the most powerful dude in it.

im not good at stories, but that would definitely be a great idea! i mean all i can think of is exploring the unknown regions looking fir revan etc and discovering the true sith. for future kotors i wanna play in the great hyperspace wars, or just ancient times and meet ajunta pall (like actually being on korriban with the original sith lords) or a plot with exar kun. so many possibilities in the star wars universe!

alright so heres a plot. you are an apprentice at the jedi temple on coruscant, not long after kotor 2, you are sent on a quest by the masters to investigate a murder, when searching the victim, you find a sith holocron, you choose either to give it to the masters (light side), or open it and learn the teachings of the sith (dark side). the holocron actually once belonged to darth trayus, she talks about her favorite student, revan, and of the exile, you ask what happened to them and she tells you that they went into the unknown regions searhing for the true sith and that she does not know exactly where they are. but then she tells you that if you track down all of their old companions from kotor 1 and kotor 2, they might be able to help you find them. if you play light side, then the jedi masters tell you to go find them and go into the unknown regions and if they are dark side, kill them, if you are dark side, than you will leave the temple and train as a sith, so you are powerful enough to face the dangers of searching for revan and the exile, and thats really all i got lol. anyone else have any good ideas for kotor 3's plot?

While I love KOTOR 1 and 2 and I think that series is one of the greatest videogames ever made, I think it would be interesting to take the KOTOR aesthetic and apply it to an MMO. If done correctly, it should turn out VERY well.

Great plot Hughami, I would definitely like to play to that plot. Like you Hughami I also think your character should start as an apprentice but mine would take place in a small academy on a lesser known planet in a remote sector, This academy is run by a single Jedi Master (could be female or male) and a bunch of loyal Jedi Knights. The planet is your characters homeplanet, this would be the first time in a Kotor where you actually see your characters homeplanet. Anyway him/her and a handful of others show signs of being able to use the force and the Jedi Master decides to have you all become apprentices and be taught how to use the force. For the beginning your character will go through some training but you will also get to know some of the characters, the apprentices, the Jedi Knights and the Jedi Master and you will also see that your character takes specific interest in the history of Revan and the Jedi Exile your characters studies will also come up with information about what happened after Kotor2. Eventually though strange events occur such as apprentices becoming ill, native animals going wild and the Jedi Knights can sense something but don't know what it is. Long story short, this leads to your entire homeplanet being destoryed by a strange force and somehow your character is a lone survivor. Your character wakes up on an unknown ship, and has lost some his/her memory after talking to the owner of the ship he explains how he found you on a wrecked ship and he agree to take you to the next planet however in return you have to do him a favour one day in the future. (sidequest later in the game) And from there your character starts on a civilised planet and is free to go about as you please there will be some party members to gain, side quests to do, shops to visit and such, as for the main quest of this planet first you have to go through some events to try and regain some of your memory, after your character has regained some memory the next will be to find yourself a ship to get of this rock and report to the Jedi temple on Coruscant. The choice to be a Jedi or not is up to you but you will always have some force powers (including the unique ones that the strange force gave you) as the story goes on you find out that you are not the only one of the apprentices who survived and that they also gained unique force powers and you will investigate what this strange force is and how to stop it. The strange force is also linked to the unknown regions and True Sith which also links to Revan and the Exile, investigating them will allow your character to run into old characters from Kotor1 & 2 and question them about what they know of Revan and the Exile. (which will probably lead to some of them joining you)

YES! seriously the 360 and ps3 are both so convinient for that stuff, new robes and faces (i really want custom faces and hair and tats or at least tons of pre set faces with hair and tat options) and maybe even worlds would be awesome, the worlds would work if the story let you be more free with quests like in elder scrolls games. i want a nex gen kotor so badly man.

Long story short, this leads to your entire homeplanet being destoryed by a strange force and somehow your character is a lone survivor. Your character wakes up on an unknown ship, and has lost some his/her memory after talking to the owner of the ship he explains how he found you on a wrecked ship and he agree to take you to the next planet however in return you have to do him a favour one day in the future. (sidequest later in the game) And from there your character starts on a civilised planet and is free to go about as you please there will be some party members to gain, side quests to do, shops to visit and such, as for the main quest of this planet first you have to go through some events to try and regain some of your memory, after your character has regained some memory the next will be to find yourself a ship to get of this rock and report to the Jedi temple on Coruscant. The choice to be a Jedi or not is up to you but you will always have some force powers (including the unique ones that the strange force gave you) as the story goes on you find out that you are not the only one of the apprentices who survived and that they also gained unique force powers and you will investigate what this strange force is and how to stop it. The strange force is also linked to the unknown regions and True Sith which also links to Revan and the Exile, investigating them will allow your character to run into old characters from Kotor1 & 2 and question them about what they know of Revan and the Exile. (which will probably lead to some of them joining you)

sick! see i cant come up with that much lol. it sounds really good man. maybe another idea that could tie into that is where some of the students begin to question the light and are interested in the dark side after stumbling upon a mysterious sith holocron in the academy archives, then they plot to kill the master(s) to prove that they are commited to the darkside (meaning the holocron's mysterious master asks them to). then you have three choices, join them (dark side), persuade them to shun the dark side (light), or kill them (could be either dark side or neutral). if you choose the light side option.....cant think of anything else with that. if you choose the dark side option, you kill the jedi master(s) and the holocron then commands that you and the apprentices fight to the death, and who ever lives will be given knowledge that can give you extraordinary and never before seen unique powers, or give you knowledge on where to find it. if you choose the neutral/darkside option......dont know that either. as an alternate route after choosing the dark side option, the mysterious forces come to the planet and ask you to join them or something like that, or that they know where revan is, and that they are actually enemies (dark side though still) of the true sith and that they need someone to go on a quest to search for a great source of power on some unknown planet, but you have to find clues on a bunch of different planets (with tons of different side quests) in order to get there (sort of like kotor 1 where you have to go from planet to planet in order to find the star forge). and the reason they need you, is because due to reasons unknown, you specifically are the only person who can do the task (i mean the force chose you or something). thats all i can think of there lol. i really like your plot though. i hope others post their ideas on here too. then maybe, we can email this to lucasarts/bioware or something haha.

It's cool there's so much support for a KOTOR 3 idea..........As I age my identity as a gamer is always flamed because I like the solo game experience and don't get into MMO's or for that matter on-line play too much...........I work a job, have other responsibilities, and I can't/won't sit there and level my character up to LV. 100 and be like "WOO-HOO". Hopefully, Bioware/EA will see this is a mistake and pull it. But when EA took them over we all knew what that meant....:x

so true. they wont stop making their greed game though, but hopefully we'll get kotor 3, but i dont want EA involved they dont do so well with games these days....
