OmG BestBuy 360 Premuim Trade-in For Elite!!!

I cant belive this guys, you can "trade-in" your premuim for the elite.

heres what happend,

Well just yesturday some my headset broke, thus i went to bestbuy to get it exchanged because i had a 2 year warrenty from them for my 360, well i got my new headset then i asked the person there that say my 360 broke what will happen, they said that if it broke then you can bring it here we will send it off to repair OR you can just return it for store credit, this got my thinking since in Canada the Elite is only 40 bucks more than Premuim, In conclusion anyone here in canada if your 360 "breaks" "randomly" ;) and you have a warrenty with best buy, go for the refund and just pitch in the extra 40 for the elite. ALSO if you got your 360 resently and you got a bundle like a free game, do this, put the case back in but not the actual disk, return the console and boom you have an elite with an extra game. IT WILL WORK.

Trying to trick Best Buy by putting the game case back in the packaging makes you a terrible person. No one should try anything like that, they should just figure out the best way to get the new system without spending too much. Do the right thing. Work, save money, make good decisions.Coldplay07

Actually guys, he is 100% correct, at least for where I live.

Yesterday I went in to best buy just to look around, and one of the employees was talking to another guy about the elite. So i jumped in the conversation by asking the guy, if I have a 2 year warranty on my 360, is there any way I can trade it in for an elite. He told me yeah, if anything "accidentally" happens (he said it sarcastically to) that I could upgrade to the elite for the $80 difference. I asked If they will test my premium first, and he said to just tell them that my 360 overheats a lot and they will do it hassel-free. So I'm looking to upgrade as soon as it is released. I just don't know what to do about my Harddrive, all of my saves and arcade games are on there.

EDIT: All's fair in regard to trading in the system, but put the game back in there. You're getting a cheap upgrade to an Elite... it's a good deal, and there's no call to be a dirty thief aside from that.

Best Buy often pitches their warranties based on the relative ease with which one can exploit them. I used to work at one and the laptop plans were pretty expensive, but many people were enticed by several loopholes than can earn people free or cheap upgrades to a new better laptop a year or two or so down the line... i.e. the No Lemon Policy and the recently adopted policy of covering drops and spills.
