But i have heard about the ''red ring of death'' i would like to know if :

How many of you have encountered this error?

On the new 360's made, have they removed it ? ( as in newly made, fresh out the oven bla bla bla)

The newly made 360s are made better and shouldn't have any problems. If you get an older one than there is a 99% chance that it will eventually get the red ring of death. No worries though because it might not be for a year or more and there is a three year manufacture warranty. You will just have to send it to Microsoft and they will send you a newer one that shouldn't break. It only takes about a week and a half to get your new one depending on where you live. I would just get an Elite and you should be ok, if not try to get a system with a recent manufacture date because they are quieter and won't have freezing issues. I wouldn't waste any money on a warranty from the store that you purchase your system because the manufacture warranty is free.mhrnw

There are so many things wrong with that post that I'm not even going to start...

I've had mine since early January 2007 and have never had a problem with it. If you go on an look at the 360 forums there are a lot of ppl talking about the Red Rings, but in all reality it's not as common as it seems. The only thing I can suggest is to have your console well ventilated (a few inches on the sides and back for it to "breathe") and I think having it horizontal helps too. As far as the newer consoles good I don't know for sure, but I would assume the problem would be less likely.

Ihave a launch console, and i have never had the red rings of death. I think the key is to keep it on a hard open air surface, and i lay mine on its side, not standing up. The new consoles are alot less likely to get the red rings because they have put new chips in them that run at a cooler temerature.

first off i dont believe half of these ppl that they console got it or they just dont know how to take care of their console the xbox360s so called RRod is a result of people not taking care of their consoles and I for one dont think that you shuld tell new console owners all of your flaws of caring for a 360dogman753
