OXM says 2008 360 games outlook is not too good?

I'm not a big fan of OXM. They generally offer very little from month to month especially for a
magazine dedicated to XBOX.

This is the Turok issue, i'm refering to. Somewhere in the middle of the mag there is a calander feature
and they speculate that in 2008 outside of GTA 4 and a few other games it doesn't look like
we'll have the blockbuster 07 holiday season or much less a good year for games.

What's quality for 2008?

Condemened 2, Dead Space (08?), Left4Dead, Brothers in arms (HHwy)

What else is there?

rainbow 6 vegas 2 is all I want.

Fable was the other game oxm mentioned.

I know there where many good titles coming in 08.

I don't know what oxm is talking about. It must be nice to get paid to do nothing.

They'res tons of good games coming on 360 in 08.

People just keep saying this because the PS3 is getting FF13 and MGS4, two games I could care less about. But apparently they are popular, and the 360 isn't getting them, so people have been saying the 360 isn't going to have a good year.

Well...Tiberium, Frontlines, Force Unleashed, Age of Conan, Alone In The Dark, Farcry 2, Supreme Commander, Chronicles Of Riddick remake, Lost Odyssey, Soul Calibur 4, Tom Clancy's Endwar, Bionic Commando......I don't know what those guys are talking about...they must have been drunk or something when they stated that lol

i gotta agree with them a bit.

i went through gamespots upcoming releases from this week all the way untill 2009 (i was bored the other night) and i must admit, there wasn't a whole lot that caught my eye. sure there's some good ones, but not the abundance of them we've seen.

not to bad for me though, i might be able to catch up on some that i've missed now.

Yeah I'm dead excited for this game, just hope it does release this year.

I'm not too fussed over r6v2, the first one done good enough and I couldn't care less about another game with the same setting. It's like GRAW 2, its the only reason I didn't bother getting it.

i have been told that xbox 360 will be getting FF XIII as well... so theres another on the list... this has not been offical yet but i have conections that have said its goin to happen

This is going to lead to low 360 sales.

These are only exclusive xbox 360 games that I can think of that I think are out this year;

Too Human, Alan Wake, Fable 2, GOW2 (possibly), UT3, Lost Oddysey, Banjo Kazooie 3, Halo Wars, Supreme Commander, GTA4 (Exclusive Episodic content), Ninja Gaiden 2, and Splinter Cell: Conviction.

I've mentioned UT3 because, well, it'll be the only version realeased in 2008 lol, and it may even have something more added to it that the ps3 version does not have

Fable 2, Gears 2, Unreal Tourney 3........that just the first 3 that popped in my head in the first 2 seconds.DZBricktop

However, the thread was about "360 games outlook not too good", which didn't mention anything about "exclusive 360 games", therefore, I wasn't completely off track. Not trying to argue though. :)

You must have the old OXM, because right on the next one it says "50 hot games for 2008".

Good list of games, multiplat and exclusive.

Firehawk, Project Origin, Far Cry 2, Endwar, SR2, Soul Calibur 4, Too Human, Battefield, Midnight Club, Silent Hill 5, Condemned 2, Street Fighter 4, Fable 2, NG 2, Brothers in Arms, and Left 4 Dead all looked great.

OXM Is a pretty miserable magazine.

i'm so sick of this thought or argument... the ps3 trumpets MGS4, home and little big plant like it is the greatest lineup of games of all time. final fantasy xiii is most likely an early 2009 japanese release, meaning a late 2009, early 2010 u.s. release.

as for the 360, there are 20 something day 1 purchases for me as things stand right now... i don't understand how the games outlook is bad. the 360 has all the big time multiplatform games except MGS4. and the exclusives that look good from a quick glance at a release schedule are:

Ninja Gaiden 2 (reason i bought a 360), Lost Odyssey, Fable 2, Halo Wars, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Gears of War 2 (if you don't think it's coming this year, you're not paying attention), Sacred 2 (also on PC), Too Human (could be bad, could be an all time great if it lives up to its expectations) and a ton more that are said to be 2008's but will probably slip into 2009.

we also haven't had the GDC (where microsoft is making a keynote speech, and has the largest floor space reserved), E3 or any of the other big shows that are home to game announcements, so i'm sure something will come out of those.

Oh man, I forgot that FEAR 2 was coming out! (project origin)

The 360 lineup is FULL of unknowns this year. In fact, some of that is literal (we'll have to wait until GDC, E3 or another event for the full lineup). But its unknown in the sense that we don't KNOW how good the games will be. Too Human and Alan Wake are new IP's. Banjo is a bit of a reinvention (from what I've read/heard) and Fable 2 is all potential at this point. Is NG2 going to be as fresh as the original was? Will the Splinter Cell reinvention pay off? We just don't know.

But I think this is kinda good for the 360. Why have crazy expectations that may not be met? Isn't it better to be surprised by titles that aren't expected to be huge hits (Crackdown, Bioshock and Mass Effect) sometimes?
