Playing Xbox 360 on a 24 inch Monitor, will I get good image quality?

I'm getting a 360 and I cant afford a HDTV, so I'm also planning on getting the Dell ST2410, a 24" monitor, however I'm worried about the image quality I will receive, does anyone know if this monitor will be good for my 360? I'm worried maybe I might get blurred or stretched out images, please let me know what to expect, will I get a good screen resolution? here are the specs of the monitor, it does have a HDMI port:

honest answer is that it depends on two things, your input options DVI or HDMI and simply your particular monitor. Depending on how your actual monitor displays those hookups will determine how good or bad your image is. I personally have an xbox 360 hooked up to a HP w2207 (22 inch widescreen) via dvi and it looks pretty good except the image seems darker than it should and to be honest parts of the dashboard seem a little more blurry than my 360 that is hooked up to my Sony HDtv. Yes I can adjust it but the base i've found regardless is that while it's good, it's not on par with my HDtv setup. Still really good, but tv is better.

In all reality it's going to give you a pretty good HD picture without question so I wouldn't be worried about that. Whether is as good as other monitors with diff. hook-ups... who can say without seeing it and comparing.

edit...I just re-read your post and thought I would directly answer to of your worries in that...

1. blurred image - even a blurred hd image is light years ahead of standard def. so I wouldn't worry to much.

2. stretched out image - you'll be fine.

One thing you should consider though is the sound. You said it had hdmi so I would imagine that's the route your going for the 360's sound output? if not you'll need to get a dongle to hook it up to external speakers or jack it through a seperate sound device. Just something to think about.

Since you have a good monitor and I assume you'll be sitting close, you'll see how painfully low res console games really are :P I hooked my 360 to my 24 inch Dell (2407WFP-HC 16:10 monitor, ran in letterbox mode) and I was shocked by how bad the quality was when you got close up with a decent monitor.

Anyway, you'll get the same image quality as on a TV. The difference being you can tell how painfully bad it is :P

Chances are yes, just opt for HDMI over VGA is posssible. and keep in mind that you need a special VGA cable from xbox.com
