Please help with Mass Effect

hey folks so yeah i have had mass effect for a few months now and am stuck and have been stuck at a particular part for like 3 months now. i started the campaign on normal difficulty as it is my first rpg. now i concider myself a decent player at shooters and that but i cant seem to defeat matriac benezia. i honestly musty have put in about 10 hours trying to pass this section, what am i doing wrong?

it also does not help that i go in with just under half life. i use the shotgun to shoot the asari commandos and then when she sends out the second wave of minions they usually spawn next to me and theres nothing i can do. why did they make tehm so hard to kill?????

i was really enjoying the game before i came across this part in the game. please tellme the best thing to do to kill her and her folk. i really wanna play the rest of the game!

also about roughly how far into the game am i if i am at the place mentioned? like can someone give me a percentage or something? thanks

Well first of all don't go in there with just guns because you will get your but handed to you. Instead use weapons and your abilities and your team members abilities. Oh I almost forgot make sure you are at a high level in order to do more damage.

It is easier if you run away directly at the start of combat (hard left or right) and hide behind the tank (always keep benezia on the other side). Then kill the asari commando's and geth minions first, while keeping benezia away. then just concentrate on her with all you got.

make sure you use all your talents and have the best upgrades for your weapons and team mate's weapons. being high level helps as well, if you can't get through, load a previous save-game and do a few side quests first to get better.

It took me a couple of times, but in the end you can kill her quite easily.

In Mass Effect (as most RPGs) character creation and development and inventory management is major. If you don't know what class you're playing, this might not be your type of game.

Also, how far you are into the main storyline depends on which of the main planets you have completed. Since the story is non-linear, you can visit the main story planets in different orders. It's been a while since I played it (although I gotta run through it again to get my Shepard ready for ME2), I think the main planets are Feros, Noveria, Virmire (opens up a little later into the game) and the one where you meet Liara (can't remember the name). There are also a few more places to visit in the main storyline after these four planets (not to spoil the game, but just wanted to let you know that there's still more to do). Good luck with Benezia, and don't forget to use a lot of the "crowd control" powers on the Asari in that fight.

just change the difficulty to casual.

hey guys i tried lowering the diffeiculty for the fight but it would vot let me. also could you please tell me where i can purchase medi gel? i dont think iv ever purchased it! i just kill some enemies and the bar just rises. and can someone tell me if there are going to be any more fights as challanging as this?FreshPrinceUk

The ending boss fight is difficult if you are on a hard difficulty and don't make use of your abilities... But if you do make use of your abilities, the entire game can be a cake walk on any difficulty... It is called Immunity. Use It.

dont feel discouraged, that fight can be painful if you aren't properly equipped. I was in the same boat the first time I played the game...took me a few hours to beat her. Bios (magic) are your best friend on this fight...they will hold off the boss soldiers (use lift and push) while you can get shots at them, as well as the main boss.

The last round of the fight is the toughest....but keep your distance, use your teammates as leverage.

thanks but im sorry im a complete noob when it comes to rpgs. by high level do you mean using the points which you gain on the character screen? i never tryed to make my team mates use powers tho maybe ii should try that. also when i try to use the machiene gun the aiming retical is so far out the gun is useless and the sniper does not even have a retical. the only guns i can use are shotgun and pistol which is annoying. and how exactyly do i get life? when i go into that fire fight i have half life and i cant get any more as it does not recharge. i wanna get as much info as possible and i want to try it again today every comment is greatly appreciated guysFreshPrinceUk

lol >.< maybe rpgs aren't your thing dude idk what to tell you, i beat that boss on the first go. its not really hard
