They most likely knew someone who worked at an EB or Gamestop. If my sister still worked for them I would have gotten a bunch but she just quit as the game came out.

if you want to ask for one from random people, that's fine (sad but fine) but don't lie about it. If you really did pre-order the game from one of the 8 places offering this deal and didn't recieve the code you payed for, you would be taking it up with them (they all have customer service departments which would get you what you paid for) and not begging on a random game forum. Personally, I would love to have a code and wish I knew about the pre-order thing before I bought it, but I'm not going around and making up stuff to guilt people into giving me theirs.
