Both games are in my top 3 for 360, but I like Elder Scroll's setting better than a wasteland.

Although i love The Fallout Series, The Elder Scrolls Series can be a ot more Diverse. I would love to see both obviously but Elder scrolls first please.
My vote goes to Elder Scrolls V. Fallout 3 is a great game, espcially with the improved speech options, but its setting is so dull. The vibrant colours and forests of Elder Scrolls 5 when it comes out willl surely be amazing, and medieval fantasy rpgs > modernish (guns) rpgs IMO.
Wow. I'm the only one so far that's voted for Fallout 3. I don't know, I guess I like the story, the setting, the characters and mostly the fact that everything you do, no matter how small, affects the entire world. It's a big load on your back that makes it feel desperate. The wasteland, while it is drab, is has unexplainable beauty to it. The dungeons that other RPGs have are not here. In Fallout 3, the dungeons are warehouses, factorys or pllaces like that. The terrain is very rough and it helps with the desperational feel that Fallout is known for. The combat is amazing. The real-time combat is fun and V.A.T.S. is an enjoyable ride. An all around masterpiece that anyone should own.
With Elder Scrolls IV, it was very bright, vivid locations that, while beautiful, gave no sense of danger. I never felt like I was making as big of a difference as I was in Fallout. Also, the dungeons are back and as brown and rocky as ever. The combat played out well, but I didn't feel as if it were as responsive as Falllout 3's. The guild interface was fun, giving you chances to do different types of quests to do. A fun, yet not as enjoyable adventure that any RPG fan should own.
neither they both suckreaver-xDo everyone a favor and go smash your xbox, thats the opinion of a noob. To the point i would like to see "Elder Scrolls 5" which they are working on i beleive, funnily an hour ago i started playing oblivion again.
Although I loved Fallout 3, I found Oblivion much more engaging and immersive with some truely awesome side-quests (I'm thinking Dark Brotherhood and Thieve's Guild etc.). Elder Scrolls just carries a more diverse and in-depth play through, hence it gets my vote.
neither they both suckreaver-x
Lol. You can't be serious. You might not be a fan, but no one can honestly say they "suck".
A new Elder Scrolls would be refreshing. The world is just so amazing. Fallout 3 is great, but I honestly got tired of the wasteland setting.
ES:V but replying to the person above me, an mmo, i can see its difficulties but i think at least online co-op. Also fallout didn't hold me as close to as long as oblivion, i still pop in oblivion to this day. The only thing thats either better than or tied with is bioshock.
i have to say Elder Scrolls V not because i wouldnt love Fallout 4 its mostly because Fallout 3 is recent and they are still making content for it and itll be around for a while but oblivion is older so they need a sequel to it...... also i hope they add some amazing new gameplay element to the next Elder Scrolls cause the knights and wizards fantasy time period is getting kinda dry
Looks like the clear winner is ESV. There are a lot of ES haters on the Fallout forums, but overall I guess ES is more popular.

I agree.
Lord_Nas3k if they both suck why do you have a dark elf for a avatar? Oblivion sucked. Morrowind aced.[QUOTE="xmen1414"][QUOTE="Lord_Nas3k"]Lord_Nas3k if they both suck why do you have a dark elf for a avatar? Oblivion sucked. Morrowind aced.I agree.

Morrowing = God tier
Oblivion = Demigod tier
They both aced, one just aced less. You can't get it perfect every time, so all considered, Oblivion is pretty damn good, you gotta admit that much.
'It has guns'? That is a weird way to choose. It is unfortunate it is a valid reason or I would give you a hard time over it. Either way, ESIV should strike your fancy more if you find a weapon more suited for you. Go in sometime and make an Archer. I have a feeling you will find the Arrows may not make up for the lack of the Fat Man., but it suffices quite nicely.I like fallout more because it has guns but I would definetly buy both. Never got into the ESIV though.

As much as I'm a fan of both Oblivion and Fallout 3, I'd want an Elder Scrolls V because of the settings and how much more potential there is to do things in a world filled with people rather than a wasteland with scattered towns. Needless to say, at least for me, i got muchmore playing time for Oblivion than Fallout 3(100 hours!)
Ultimately, I feel it boils down to personal opinion. If your more of a sci-fi, fps, gun nut type of person, Fallout's for you. If you're more into the the fantasy, melee combat, and albeit deeper experience that The Elder Scrolls series offers, then that's your baby. Both are AMAZING games that have eaten up entirely too much of my life :D , but I gotta go with Fallout on this once. I've spent alot of time in Washington D.C. and seeing it in ruins the way that Fallout showed it...there's something very chilling, and very cool about it. Creepy thing is, while Bethesda took many liberties with the city's layout, certain areas (like the National Mall) are spot on. It may not be as deep or engrossing as The Elder Scrolls series, but hopefully the DLC can make it a little more worthwhile (despite the added price tag- but hey, at least it's not horse armor..which I bought :oops: ).
Plus my little sister used to be one of those Sims only types of gamers, but after playing Fallout 3 for an hour, she was begging me to buy her a 360 so she could play it herself. Since I bought her it in January, and by Feb she had beaten all the quests, and the game...Twice :P
Can't wait for the next Elder Scrolls game, though. My only hope is that there's some really in-depth weapon selection/customization, and some sort of online component. That world is just begging for some co-op or competitive fun!
