Poll: Halo 3, Overhyped?

I think it didn't only because it was built up so high and also not quite as unique this time around

Halo was great because no one alse had ever done a FPS of that calibour, Halo 2 a vary little comp as well but Halo 3 has pretty big shoes to fill and with games like GEARS OF WAR and BIOSHOCK it is less breathtaking by comparison

no matter how u feel about halo 3

at the end of the day its still a g reat game and people r g onna be eating it up

the game had a good single player not the best but great none the less

and the multiplayer is the best mp console or pc theres just so much to do customizable multiplayer options and forge mode makes this game a game that can last for years and years

over hyped? well that depends

if u know people r gonna buy ur product like mad that wouldnt u hype it up as much as possible too?

Absolutely lived up to expectations, I don't think I've gotten into bed before 2 A.M since the release because of online.

I like it but its not like im hardcore crazy about it. It was fascinating and interesting to me in a sense as i never played it before and i agree with it scoring a high mark in reviews.

But with all games you play it a lot you get sick of it. But Halo 3 MP is what keeps the fun going especially forge, having heaps of fun with that.

As I was playing,I almost couldn't believe what was going on. It was such an experience to be able to finish what I had started like 7 years earlier with Halo. Thats what really made this game so good.

Although the game is good, it is indeed very overhyped. It wasn't anything we hadn't really seen before storywise, and the graphics aren't as good as some other 360 games. (GoW, I mean you)

Weird thing about hype is that you build it up in your mind soooooo much, that its hard to keep up with everyone's expectations. I mean, how can you honestly hype a game up as being the best thing ever, and not be disapointed?A game can't have it all, to expect that it will, or change your life somehow is just stupid.

I don't know if H3 was over hyped or not, as I refuse to listen to all the advertising bull****. I went into H3 with an open mind, and loved it.

I was hoping Bungie would recapture the magic of Combat Evolved.... but alas they didnt. I'll admit at least the game was better than halo2, but I'm not a multiplayer guy so Halo3 is kinda disapointing in that manner. Over all I would rate the game 7.5. It's good but there are certainly better options out there for single player and multiplayer First Person Shooters.

well i got what i expected from it, a short single player with a compelling story. groundbreaking no, fun yes. there wasnt a single original or innovative idea in the game.... just mashed together bits.. and ideas stolen from other games (turrets in far cry anyone?)

multiplayer is amazing, worth every penny... got it last night and stayed up til 5am playing it online and had to tear myself away... i feel i got my moneys worth

Halo 3 is overhyped I had people tell me it looks like doom 3 on the original xbox lol
The game has some great moments but the last mission is horrible.

Ive played and completed, and multiplayered (real word?) the first two, however, they are genuinely nothing special. The first was big news 'cause it was like the first FPS on Xbox, and therefore the first FPS many Xbox owners played, and the second was hyped because it was the brother of the first, with bells on.

When comparing to other shooters (HL2, F.E.A.R., hell, even Quake 4) Its not that groundbreaking....

My point is, no need to flame for someone stating their opinion on a forum, it's what they're for

I put YES by my full opinion is this;

The SP is pretty great but not really groundbreaking or as fantastic as some said it would be.
The MP however IS very well done, and a contender for the best MP ever, let alone just on the 360. So in that respect, it does live up to the hype.

Overhyped? not for me. I actually loved the single player campaign. (and the outdoor levels. yay! no more purple hallways!)

I havent gotten a chance to play on XBL yet, but hopefully I will soon. I have played split screeen though, and it's still pretty fun.

I think this whole topic is irrelevant. Most people are assuming that overhype means arubbish game. It couldnt be further from the truth. Yeah Halo 3 is overhyped and yes it is a great game.

Still not as good as the orange box.w7w7w7w7w7

i need some money for that box i just dont want episdoe 3 to come out in the orange box 2 next year and be left hangin
