I've read a few reviews of the game but they range from great to bad some say the action is great others say its to chaotic at times also there were complaints about pop up and textures in some while others said nothing does it depend what your playing it on

Its an alright game, some missions just make you want to quit the game though cause they can be absurd at times (Hunters in that game are so damn annoying).

Yer it is really good, original and action packed. The parkour is particularly interesting.

I played it for about an hour, it was okay. I wasn't impressed by it too much. It's like The Incredible Hulk game with gore. I thought it was going to be much better. I don't care about graphics (because I know it has been getting bashed for that), I care about game play and to me the game play just wasn't there.

i have zero regret for buying it, im probly around 10 hours in now and though it does have a few issues (lack of big variety in enemies, sometimes deaths feel cheap and overwhelming) It i VERY addicting, upgrading your abilities and unleashing them on hordes of enemies is a BLAST! the movement through the city is amazingly fluid and though i thought it might at first it has not gotten old and continues to be entertaining. id give it a solid 8.7

It's a decent game that's worth at least a rental. I'm barely halfway through so I don't know how the rest of the game is going to pan out. So far I like it and the more I play it the more fun it becomes.

Reading the review at IGN has convinced me not to pick up my pre-order. The review said that you are under attack every second of the game by swarms of enemies. This kind of thing is not fun and enjoyable at all to me. It is very frustrating and infuriating to get slaughtered every 10 seconds. I like corridor shooter / action type games where you only encounter 1 or 2 enemies every once in a while, and have lots of down time.

that is just flat out not true its not like that. i played the game i love it , you can play all out brawler carnage type of game or go a more stealthy route. you can finish missions without even alerting the enemy. i think the game looks good graphically nothing steallar but good more importantly i think they go the scale of the city down and the feel of the city it feels alive and when chaos ensuses you can see the all out panic in the streets people running away in all direction cars speeding away spinning out of control crashing into other cars into people. the city really feels alive and not like some static backdrop like most sandbox games.

Game is action packed, but what IGN said it's not true- you're not followed by enemies every second- you can roam freely as long as you don't kill civilians in front of soldiers.

And about the massive quantity of foes thrown at you that's the point of the game or having superpowers wouldn't be worth it. The game is a blast.

Yeah you could tell that the IGN reviewer had made up their mind before they even put the game in by the way he made things up.

I haven't played it, but I don't think I really want to. Doesn't look that great to me.

Got the game but didn't get a chance to play it yet but I've been waiting for this a loooong time. I've play the Hulk Ultimate Destruction game, still have it, and just know that this will be a great sandbox. Hope the game doesn't frak up, like Spidey: Web of Shadows, when the action becomes to tense.

If you played The Incredible Hulk, it is very similar to that game, but with gore. Lot's o gore. Matter of fact, Prototype has the exact same bounding-through-the-city movement, same "enemies have bases that can be destroyed" (ala Enclave from Hulk), same upgradeable powers, etc. So if you liked Hulk, you will like this game bc its that but much better. I have played it and feel it is like Crackdown+Incredible Hulk. can't beat that! also, i have not read the IGN review, but it sounds to me that they are way off. Surrounded by enemies and constantly attacked? No, not really. Even in the scenarios where that might be construed as the case, things are balanced out by the powers. as i said above, it's just like Hulk in that regard. The military was EVERYWHERE in that game, but you could just smash through and keep free roaming.

I hear that! Love HULK Ultimate Destruction (HUD) but was disappointed with the latest flawed Hulk sandbox game (even though it was from a different developer that tried to be like HUD). Glad Prototype opens up the ability to take it out on the innocent citizens as like HUD. My greatest moments for HUD is grabbing a citizen and listening to the different screams. Wait a minute ... no ... my greatest moment was taking somone to the top of a tall builiding, left them fall off, and jump off with them and hearing them scream all the way down before the pavement said hello. The replayability of this game should be awesome! like HUD)

That is all kinds of twisted...

I'm playing through Prototype now and I'm having a great time with it. Major complaints are the loading screens after cut scenes, camera angles when doing parkour and that's about it right now. I mean yeah the enemies get redundant but there's just so many different ways to take them out that it makes up for it. It's almost like a research trial where you see how many different ways you can take out the same guy.

that reviewer was full of it, after reading the whole review that was the part that really just stuck out as not true, he says you cant even get across the city without being attacked??? i dont know what game that guy played but i only seem to get into fights in that game when i go down and start them intentionally

Me. and it freaking rocks. The locomotive adaptive parkour is seamless and intuitive. The game is crazy over-the-top fun. Prototype is the bees knees.

If anyone is worried about loading issues just install onto your hard drive. I've heard from other posts that this helps.
