Problem with controller...

My 360 controller just broke on me...

I was just playing mid game cod4 when i needed new batteries... Ok, so i go and get new ones and put the in... Right after i put the batteries in, the controller starts to rumble and doesnt stop rumbling and the 360 dosent recognize it ,nor is the controller on (no green circle)... After then i take the batteries out then put them in seeing as how the only way to stop the rumble is to take it out... Then it gets worse, soon after i put different batteries in (new,) the controller wont turnon nor then 360 wont recognize it...

No more rumble just that the controller wont turn on?!?

Has this ever happend to anyone before or what... What should i do to fix it?
