Remember that there are already people who have the new dashboard and options.

If you look closely you see a small contrast/graphic reducement on HDD (and no it's not because of the difference in lightning of the environment because there simply is none) not that different but still noticeable to the naked eye.

a bit faster loading times make it up for this but i'd rather play with better graphics

DVD or HDD, what do you think?

I care more about noise reduction over anything else. I certainly didn't notice any difference in graphics. Other than it being different times of the day.

No you can't. You have to have the game in the drive to start it, just to prove that you own it.

i hate to say this but regardless of where you're playing a game, WILL NOT degrade visual quality IN ANY WAY...unless the user has some way of altering this, i've only ever seen done in PC games for example, not on consoles, as they're very closed to what developers want. the only way you could degrade graphical appearance on your console is using a composite/S-VHS/Scart cable. the statement on this thread is like saying playing PC games on their original DVD will give you the better looking visuals (ROFL)

Wow talk about a non-existent difference in color. I'll talk the quiet 360 and better load times any day........this is also something that MS can fix through a patch, or even by the time NXE actually arrives.

i was reading and gamespot said that the load times arent that much quicker. so why download a game that is going to take up 6 to 10 gb of space just to make loading a couple seconds quicker. makes no sense to me.

Noise. I don't know about everyone else, but my 360's drive sounds like a jet turbine.

Not that I can do anything about it, since I don't have any hard drive space left.

That makes no sense at all. Whether it is streaming off the disc or the HDD to the processors etc, why would it make any difference? It is ones and Zeros, where they originate from doesn't matter it only matters how fast they get there.

Could not tell the difference. I would have to see both screens up close and in person. I know since I got my HDTV and play in HD that my games are a lot sharper and have much more detail then before. The 360's graphic processor is quite powerful despite it's age. I have a 360 Elite and it plays in up to 1080p, and not 1080i (720p) like older 360 releases. I prefer playing in HD as I find the game graphics much better. But everyone has there own preference.

You gotta love how people that pirate a pre-release version of software then turn around and start complaining when something doesn't work properly.

Wait for the real thing then judge for yourself.

It shouldn't make any difference to the graphics, but should improve load times and reduce texture pop-up

I should add that when playing from the HDD it will only reduce load times by a few seconds other wise game play does not change.

Using the update now is not illegal at all. It is a free update so how can using it early be wrong? You won't be able to play online until the official date but that is it.

oh yes, YOUTUBE videos are great showcases of graphical fidelity! even if ture, so what? big freaking deal, then don't install games then if the little contrast alteration will make the games graphics so bad.

if this is proof then why doesn't the maker of the video say anything about quality? also to me it looks like the HDD is at night while the DVD is during the day.

Didn't notice a difference. Given there may have been some sort of difference, it's just Fable 2.... The games graphics are kinda lame IMO. One of them titles that should be purchased because of the gameplay, nothing to do with the graphics.

Alot of people's impressions were made using the Game Informer test which testing start up load times. Which is an unfair assessment because practically every game has start up screens that are unskipable or are cached. Noones really been saying anything about in game.

Plus regardless of load times the fact that the game isn't loading from the disc alleviates a lot of the stress on the console itself. It does not have to run the disc drive so it will run much quieter and cooler than previously with installed games which is what is most important about the update not the fact you can shave of a few seconds here and there. This update will most likely save a lot of consoles from RROD. I can't wait for it solely for Fable 2, it does not sound right when the disc is playing and I already know someone whose console broke while playing Fable 2.

I doubt there's any real difference; I'm not seeing any at all from all comparisons I've seen so far. I'm excited for this update not for the load times either, but rather for the noise reduction and elimination of disc read errors.

im not going to even click the link, how the hell would you be able to see the fine points of hd graphics on a crappy youtube video, at least take a full screen res video in hd for each direct from the xbox and whack them up if ur going to try and proove this incorrect fact

Good video.

Nope David Blaine is popular because the people impressed by him are easily impressed morons, and I never said that he said that. In fact did you even read my post correctly, I was "correcting" him. Theres no assumptions there. Stop being that neutral internet tool bag that doesn't like it when someone says something that isn't politically correct.

he's not a magican, people are impressed by him as he tries to defy science. not do magic tricks, his biggest pull are when he does everyday normal things in extreme situations that ur bodies not conditioned to do, but all he does is train to handle these situations for a year before he does the final run in public. nowt magic and sometimes does seem pointless but i guess the guy makes loads from it

Downloading not yet released software from a torrent or other site/program instead of the genuine publisher. Yeah that would be illegal.

Installing it on your 360 would break your Terms of Use agreement, something which MS can ban your console and gamertag for.

So take your pick of which reason you want for why using it early could be wrong.

Although I'm COMPLETELY neutral on this matter, some people really do have absolute s*** eyesight. In that Fable video on youtube (even if it is youtube), there is BLATANTLY a difference between the two. It's either bad eyesight or simply denial of what some of you don't want to see (e.g you're in full favour of the HDD concept and deny any noticeable image degradativity). Sure, the guy managing this test might have slyly messed around with the colour/contrast settings on those screens to make the HDD picture appear slightly worse, but judging from that video alone, there is definetly an inferior picture on the HDD screen. Personally, I'd describe it as slightly "washed-out" compared to the DVD version.

Honestly I couldn't see a difference in graphical quality, but that video is very low resolution so it's really hard to tell either way. I did notice the that the load times are about a second faster then the DVD, but who's to say that the HDD side didn't start a second sooner. Anyways I really didn't notice a huge difference in load times or graphics.

Did you watch the higher quality version?
