I'm thinking of buying a 360, but I had a few questions before i do buy one. First things first, is there a 360 model that doesnt have any issues with TROD or E74 errors? I've had a 360 before but it overheated every 20 minutes before it finally got ROD, and my brother had 2 Elites, the one didnt show picture, and the other had that E74 error. Another problem I had with 360 was the D-Pad, I heard Microsoft had made a new controller that was released in Europe, is there one being released in the US? 360's are pretty cheap now, and have a lot of cool features i could use, but i just dont want another one to die on me. So any helpful comments would be apprecciated, thanks.

ive had my 360 for over a year and never had any problems out of it other that 1 time it wouldnt read game disc's and i sent it back to microsoft and they sent me a new one. so my opinion i would get one but get the extended warranty so that if it does mess up you can send it back and get it fixed or get a new one.

If there were why would Microsoft sell any models that did?

The Jasper arcades are probably by far the most reliable 360's built to date sporting both CPU and GPU's with 45 nm chips. Also the new controlers and much better Dpads, allthough still not perfect.

The important question is what are you doing with all these consoles forming some sort of Natzi death camp where you kill any console who falls against your evil will? because you seem to be breaking alot of consoles.

ok every1 in here is gonna tell u to buy one, i have both, i play my ps3 more, the only games there is to play on xbox is halo 3 and gears of war, and the 360 has a much higher fail rate, the new jaspers are supposed to fix it but it doesnt, the people that said they never had problems are the small percentage that didnt, read the broken 360 thread, it got people who had 5 of them break, 360 is a nice systme, but if ur ps3 broke then call sony and have it repaired, ur probably still under warranty and if u arent its only like 100 bucks to fix it

But yeah, buy the 360 **CoughCoughReversePsychologyCoughCough**

My 360 Elite freezes from time to time, overheating problem i guess. But other than that, it's great console. Actually the best i ever had when i think about it...:o

EDIT: forgot to mention that i don't care until i'll get RROD, because in my country you get automatically 2 years warranty on all electronics you buy.
And i don't get why you have to pay for warranty in US anyway - so stupid...

If your console broke why don't you just call Sony and get a replacement? Its like $150, but if you yourself didn't break it its better than paying for another console. You could also rob a GameStop, then you could have all 3 systems (of course this wouldn't help the image of gamers).

If my PS3 broke I wouldn't get it fixed unless it was free like Microsoft does.

You said the people who never had a problem are the small percentage that didn't. Have you got any facts for this or is it a opinion. I thought that the 360 had a 30% failure rate in 2007 but it has improved alot since then with the newer models.

I agree if the PS3 is broke you should get Sony to fix it.

strangely enough i know of more people who have had broken ps3's than broken 360's... i have both and neither have broken to date, touch wood. i prefer the 360, mostly because i think multiplats are better optimised and i prefer the controller for FPS's. the sixaxis/dualshock is too small and my thumbs get in the way of each other when i use both analogues. BUT, the ps3 is better for street fighter 4 and fifa 09.

lol. that's like saying, "I've never had any health problems other than the one time I got cancer but I got chemo and it went away ." I've gone through about 4 360's since I first purchased one in November 2007. Game wise, it's the best system out there but reliability issues can really be frustrating as any 360 owner can attest to. An extended warranty is a MUST when purchasing a 360. Out of the big three, it's the best system but sometimes I don't even know if it's worth it with all the problems associated with it.

The new arcades run very quiet and very cool. You can find a brand new hard drive on ebay for $30 bucks. Best deal out there, I recommend it

I've had my 360 since 2006 and it has gotten the RROD twice. I just got it back from being repaired, and am taking it to EB Games later today to trade it in towards a PS3.

T

hats what I done (But I went to this shop called Blockbuster instead, EBGames is not in the UK) . I got about £125 for the console and some bundle games. Then, I bought a PS3 with Killzone 2 and Infamous for only £290. In the UK, a PS3 alone is £300. So I got one heck of a deal.

I gotta be honest here, the only reason why I sold the 360 was because it breaks.

the ps3 sucks, i bought one the other day and it didnt work so i got angry and threw it out of the window, claimed warranty on it and got a full refund, my 360 however is pretty much the best invention there is out there imo, no breakages for me at all and is truely wonderful. ive heard the ps3's break because they cant handle having a blu-ray player in them and overload. haha XD

I bought a PS3 when i first decided to get a new gen system, the main reason was because of how unreliable the 360 was and because all my friends who played online had them. Well turned out I made a dumb choice cause almost no game on PS3 appealed to me, On top of that the one game I loved GTA4 would always disconnect me online (I'm a NOC so I know what I was doing as far as my internet connection) at the time sony was blaming rockstar and rockstar blamed sony. A patch claimed to fix it but it didn't for me at least. Also I could never get any headset to work for my PS3. My cousin told me there was no head set made by sony for the PS3. I thought this was a little ridiculous. Anyways after realizing I wasn't playing my PS3 for months I decided might as well get a 360 cause I loved Gears of War (played it on my PC) and Mass Effect (played it on my PC) Fable 2 was coming out and I loved the first one (played it on my PC) ended up hating that game though. Plus 360 already had GTA4 and was coming out with exclusive expansions. I figured if my 360 did brake and I had to send it in it would be no different them my PS3 just sitting there. 360 had all the RPGS to which is really important to me since I love these games SO4 and TOV have been great games.

Oh yeah I forgot to add I absolutely loved the Ninja Gaiden Sigma game for PS3 truly a beautiful game. I really felt like a Ninja in that game simply awesome, I was very very dissappointed that the 360 version was a poor mans version of Sigma.

If you're gonna lie, at least make it sound believable IMO.
